A man was arrested and charged with animal rape after he allegedly raped a little puppy numerous times, according to police reports in Illinois.

Madison County Police said that for the first time in the careers of two veteran police officers they have charged a man with criminal animal sexual conduct after a man had sex with a Rottweiler puppy.

Prosecutors said that Terry Wayne Davis, 43, of Alton, was charged with three felony counts of Class 4. The office also charged Davis with failure to register a change of address as a sex offender, a class 3 felony.

A judge set bail at $50,000.

“It is very disturbing and deplorable that someone can do this to an animal,” Alton Police Chief Jake Simmons said.

“We worked this as a case of sexual assault. A veterinarian examined the dog, and a rape kit was used. We are very serious. It’s very worrying,” he said.

Simmons said the veterinarian determined that the 5-month-old puppy named Lucy, was not injured during the three alleged sexual assaults, the last of them which occurred on Tuesday night.

Alton Police arrested Davis on Wednesday night.

Davis admitted that he had assaulted the dog twice before Tuesday’s incident.

The owner of the dog told police that she came home on Tuesday, to find Davis lying on a love seat and having sex with the dog, prompting the owner to yell at the suspect: “what the f*** are you doing?”

Davis then left the house on a bicycle, and the owner called police.

Davis is listed as a child sex offender on the Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry. He forced a 16-year-old to have sex with him when he was 33-years-old.
