A couple was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct after they had oral sex on an airplane in full view of other passengers, according to court proceedings in Nevada.
Now, the couple has pleaded guilty to the charge.
Las Vegas Police said that a man and a woman, who were accused of participating in oral sex in front of other passengers on a commercial flight, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct.
Christopher Martin of Applegate Valley, Oregon, and Jessica Stroble of Medford, Oregon, pleaded guilty in absentia on Wednesday, in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas, to a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct.
Martin and Stroble were ordered to pay a fine of $250.
The plea deal resulted in the withdrawal of a more serious charge that could have resulted in a prison sentence of up to 90 days for each defendant.
“I have made many mistakes in my life, none bigger than this,” Martin said in a statement. “I lost my job, my reputation and damaged my legacy, which I had worked for 10 years. I’m going to learn from this and move on to the next chapter of my life,” Martin also said.
The two were charged with engaging in oral sex acts in view of other passengers on board an Allegiant Air flight on June 21. Prosecutors said they had been warned several times by the flight attendants, but they did not care.
