(Scroll down for video) An airplane pilot was arrested and charged with child sexual assault after he allegedly groped an underage girl during a flight to Utah, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Utah is accusing a pilot of groping a 14-year-old girl while he was a passenger on a flight from Detroit, Michigan to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Michael James Pascal, 45, of Park City, is accused of abusive sexual contact.
The girl told investigators she awoke from a nap on a Delta Airlines plane and found Pascal’s hand under her, grabbing her behind, according to court documents.
She said that the armrest that was pushed down was in the vertical position. She punched Pascal and said: “What the hell are you doing?”
Pascal pulled his hand from under her and said: “Sorry, sorry, I was asleep, I have to use the bathroom.”
The girl, who was flying alone, told flight attendants what happened and changed seats.
Pascal, who works as a pilot for a regional airline that contracts with Delta, told investigators he fell asleep with his hands on his lap.
He said that he does not remember where his hand was when he awoke. He said that he pushed up the armrest between him and the girl, because the man on the other side was taking up too much space.
