Canadian researchers have found that having sex makes a person lose more weight than going for a walk.

Researchers have discovered exactly how many calories the average person burns during sex.

Young men burn an average of 4.2 calories per minute during sex, while women burn 3.1 calories per minute of having sex.

The average sex session lasted 24.7 minutes, which equates to men burning 104 calories and woman burning 69 calories during each sex session.

This makes sex a better exercise than going for a walk, but not as good as jogging.

The researchers from the University of Quebec in Montreal, examined 21 heterosexual couples between the ages of 18 to 35.

During four sex sessions, couples wore a SenseWear armband that tracked their energy expenditure.

They also answered questions about how tired they were, the amount of effort they put in and how much they enjoyed it.

The participants had also undergone a half hour treadmill test so that researchers could measure the amount of calories burned during exercise, and then compare it to the readings of the bracelet worn during sex.

This led them to the conclusion that people burn more calories during sex than walking.
