Rachel Poole, 31, was talking to her husband Justin Poole on FaceTime, when she was suddenly attacked in her El Paso home.
Army Private Justin Poole, is serving his country in southwest Asia. One day, when he was talking with his wife, who was nine months pregnant, she was suddenly attacked.
The soldier listened helplessly on live chat, while a fellow Army man brutally stabbed his pregnant wife.
The El Paso woman was stabbed several times in the face and body, and was also beaten.
While being attacked, she managed to shout out the name of her attacker.
His name is Corey Bernard Moss, a 19-year-old, who was training at the military base in Fort Bliss.
Thousands of miles away, the distraught husband heard the whole thing.
The husband, who was unable to protect his wife and unborn child, turned to Facebook to try to get help for his wife.
He also contacted his friends, who were stationed at Fort Bliss and told them what happened.
The police force on the army base soon found Moss, and handed him over to police in El Paso.
Moss faces charges of criminal attempted murder. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility, where he was being held on $150,000 bond. Police said that the two were fighting over an unpaid debt.
Meanwhile, Rachel Poole was rushed to the hospital where she delivered a healthy baby girl, named Isabella, via cesarean section.
Rachel Poole is still hospitalized and is listed as in critical condition. Her husband, Army Private Justin Poole, was given permission to go home to be with his wife and new daughter.
