A 29-year-old mother pleaded guilty to performing sex acts on her 4-year-old daughter.

A judge sentenced Sarah Adleta of Orlando, Florida, to 54 years in federal prison for sexually abusing her two children, and for producing child pornography by recording the sex acts.

Prosecutors said that Adleta and her former husband, Jonathan Adleta, 25, a former Navy officer, had sex with her two children as part of their parenting plan.

The couple also recorded their sex acts with their children. At one point, Mrs. Adleta performed sex acts on her 4-year-old daughter while another man, Aaron Dixon, watched via Skype.

Sarah Adleta also testified against her former husband during his trial.

During the sentencing hearing for the mother, mental health counselor Cherilyn Rowland Petrie testified that the couple’s daughter, who was 4-years-old at the time of the abuse, was malnourished, not toilet trained, was at the developmental level of an 18-month-old, and had sexualized behaviors.

Sarah Aldeta's father, Leonard Lippy, who is angry about the sex abuse his grandchildren suffered, asked the Judge to give his daughter the maximum sentence.

Sarah Adleta begged the judge for leniency, saying that she was manipulated by her former husband, and will be haunted by her actions for the rest of her life.

In exchange for her guilty plea, and for her testimony against her former husband, Sarah Adleta hoped to get a lighter sentence.

Public defender James Smith pointed out that Adleta not only helped secure her former husband’s conviction, but she also helped put two other people behind bars.

Prosecutor Karen Gable also recommended a lower sentence because her help in convicting those people.

However, the judge sentence Sarah Adleta to 27 years in prison for each count, and did not give her a concurrent sentence as she hoped for.
