(Scroll down for video) An elderly woman was slammed to the ground by an angry police officer, according to video uploaded to the Internet.
The Georgia police officer was seen body slamming the woman face down on the pavement after pulling her over for alleged drunk driving.
Kathleen Mary Allegrone, 70, did try to resist the officer by screaming and trying to break free as she was being escorted from her car to the patrol car. However, what happened next surprised everyone.
The Glynn County police officer lifted the woman into the air and threw her into the street. The woman’s face was bloodied after crashing into the concrete, according to the witness who recorded the incident with his cellphone.
“The woman was being handcuffed and couldn’t use her arms to break up the impact of the fall,” the witness said.
Kevin Jones was removed from patrol as police investigated the incident, but he returned to full duty on Saturday.
Allegrone faces charges of driving under the influence and willful obstruction of law enforcement.
She was released on bail.
