(Scroll down for video) A teen girl is lucky to be alive and she can thank her eyeglasses, according to police reports in Washington.
Seattle Police said that the eyeglasses of the teenager saved her life in a shootout.
The incident occurred on Sunday, when a 16-year-old girl was lying on a sofa inside her residence in southeast Seattle, when a shooting broke out late at night.
Police said that a bullet hit the bridge of her eyeglasses. The bullet bounced off the eyeglasses and was diverted away from the child’s head. The eyeglasses broke, but the girl was not seriously injured.
The girl, Alonza Bryant, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Several people were inside the house during the drive-by shooting. Investigators believe the teen was not the target of the shooting.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, but so far, no arrests have been made.
