A Flatbush area woman is dead after she was run over by a vehicle while trying to catch a bus to work, according to rescue workers in New York.
Brooklyn Police said that a local 41-year-old woman, who was running after a bus to work as a home attendant, was struck and killed by an SUV on Monday.
Marise Clerveau was struck and killed by a Toyota SUV at 2005 Foster Avenue, a few blocks from her house, which is located on East 80th Street.
“She was running to catch her bus. She did not want to be late for work,” her partner, Andre Souffrance, 57, said.
“We had just moved here four years ago. We came here to do better and pursue the American dream,” he said.
Clerveau died at Brookdale Hospital. The 46-year-old driver remained at the scene.
