A girl was punished after she confided in school authorities that she was raped by a classmate on school property.
Rachel Bradshaw-Bean of Texas, who was 17 at the time of the incident, was expelled from high school after telling school officials and police officers that she was raped in school by her classmate.
However, the police refused to file charges and she was expelled from school.
Bradshaw-Bean, now 20, decided to go public with her story after the recent wave of high school rape cases, which were swept under the rug and accusers were shamed.
Bradshaw-Bean attended the Henderson High School in East Texas, when a boy of her class asked her to go to the band room with him to talk.
When they entered the room, the girl claimed that the boy forced her to have sex with him.
After the incident, the teen was devastated. She went to the bathroom to clean herself up before she went to school officials with the allegations.
However, during the investigation, police reviewed the security cameras and saw the girl walk into the room voluntarily.
Officials decided that the sex was consensual.
Both, the boy and the girl were charged with public lewdness, and they were both suspended from school for 45 days.
