Arthur Jones is only 2-years-old, but he already has a love and connection with sheep.
The boy is Britain’s youngest shepherd, who cares for his flock of 6 sheep under the tutelage of his grandmother Nicky Jesse.
Jesse is one of the few shepherdesses in the country.
Arthur is a celebrity amongst all the shepherds. He is the youngest member of the Poll Dorset and Dorset Horn Sheep Breeders’ Association.
He also won three prizes in county shows.
His mother, Sarah, 32, has many reasons to be proud of her young son.
For one, Arthur Jones was born two and a half months prematurely and he has cerebral palsy.
His lower body has been affected by the condition, and doctors warned that he might not walk before 4-years-old, but he proved them wrong.
Arthur Jones spends weekends with his grandmother and her sheep.
“He started mimicking everything I did,” grandma Nicky said. “So we bought a mini toy version for him of all the things I had,” she said.
As time went on, the young boy developed a love and connection with the flock, and he now enjoys spending his time playing with and caring for his sheep as the youngest shepherd.
