West, and Kardashian, caused a plane full of passengers to wait almost an hour for takeoff at JFK airport, after an airline employee apparently allowed the two to bypass the security checkpoint, according to reports.

The stars, were running late for their American Airlines flight and they were led around a security checkpoint so they can quickly board the plane from New York to Los Angeles.

The stars arrived at JFK, on a flight from Rio de Janeiro. They were cleared by customs and went through the luggage area, when the airline employee escorted them through a restricted area, according to reports.

Airport officials soon learned of the special treatment of West. with Kardashian, and ordered them to be taken off from the plane. Then, the stars went through a pat down by TSA agents. The incident delayed the flight for almost an hour.

The Islamist king of Morocco has vowed to rebuild all the Jewish synagogues in his country at a synagogue rededication event held this week, according to press reports in Morocco.

King Mohammed praised the spiritual wealth and diversity of Morocco, at a ceremony this week to mark the end of the restoration of a 17th century synagogue in the city of Fez.

The ceremony was held in the Medina, the Old City of Fez, a UNESCO world heritage site, before more than 200 people including the country's Islamist prime minister and German parliament speaker, Norbert Lammert.

Germany part-financed the $215,000 project.
“The two-year restoration of the Slat Alfassiyine synagogue shows the spiritual wealth and diversity of the Kingdom of Morocco and its heritage," Mohammed said in a message read by Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane.

"The secular traditions of Moroccan civilization drew their essence from the fact that Moroccans are deeply ingrained with the values of coexistence, tolerance and harmony between the different components of the nation," the king said.

The new constitution adopted in 2011 against the background of the Arab Spring, recognized the Jewish heritage as part of Morocco's national identity, he said, calling for the renovation of all Jewish place of worships in the country.

Among other speakers was Serge Berdugo, a Jewish former Moroccan minister.
Morocco historically had a vibrant Jewish population and 1,200 notable Jewish leaders are buried in cemeteries across the North African country, which was home to a community of almost 250,000 in the first half of the 20th century.

The Jews of Morocco are now estimated to number less than 3,000.
In 1900, Fez, then the imperial capital, had 10,000 Jews out of a population of 100,000 and 20 synagogues, according to Simon Levy, a specialist on Judaism in Morocco. The city lies 200 kilometers or 125 miles east of Rabat.

France to finally return stolen Nazi paintings to Jews

One of the artworks to be returned
By: David Ross

After struggling for years, the French government finally decided to return several Nazi looted paintings to its Jewish rightful owners, according to press reports in France.

France announced that it will return seven artworks taken from their Jewish owners during World War II, part of an ongoing effort to return hundreds of stolen art that still hang in French museums.

The works were stolen or sold by force 70 years ago since their Jewish owners had to flee from Nazi Europe. The seven works were scheduled to be displayed in an art gallery of Adolf Hitler, which he wanted to build in his hometown of Linz, Austria, according to a planned museum catalog.

At the end of the war, with Hitler dead and the reconstruction effort of European cities, thousands of artworks were left behind and many of them has found its way into the country's most important museums.

The decision to return the paintings ends a seven-year struggle for the two families, whose applications were validated by the French government last year after years of investigating the fate of the works.

"This is very rare. It's the largest number of paintings that have been able to return to Jewish families in more than a decade," Bruno Saunier of the National Museums, said.

Many of the 100,000 artworks that were looted, stolen or appropriated between 1940 to 1944 in France have been returned to the Jewish families, but Saunier said that the country has increased its efforts in the past five years to track down the rightful owners of 2,000 works of art still in state institutions.

Filing errors and the challenge of identifying the paintings’ owners have made the return of the stolen work a slow go.

Europe horse meat scandal causes kosher meat sales to skyrocket

Kosher meat
By: David Ross

The horse meat scandal that swept across Europe has caused consumers to flock to kosher meat because they feel secure that kosher meat will not contain any horse meat, according to press reports in the United Kingdom.

The head of the Manchester Jewish Court has said that the Food Standards Agency and meat companies could learn a lot from the kosher meat producers.

The scandal of horse meat has caused an unprecedented buying surge for kosher meat, with meat sellers reporting booming sales as consumers are turning to safety of kosher.

Jacky Lipowicz, president of the Retailers Association of Licensed Kosher Meat, said the scandal could be best thing that ever happened to the kosher meat industry.

Buyers who previously have never bought kosher meat have run to kosher stores following concern about the threat of contamination of supermarket meat products.

A kosher meat seller in Edgware, which is located northwest of London, said there had been an increase in people who buy kosher meat. "People always said that kosher meat is more expensive, but now they know why," the meat seller told news reporters.

Manchester Jewish court Rabbi Yehuda Brodie, said: "The level of oversight that exists in all kosher establishments, whether commercial or otherwise, makes sure that any ingredient or meat meets strict requirements. There would be no way that anything could find their way in a kosher product that is not perfectly acceptable."

The animals are first checked by a veterinarian to ensure that no diseases are present.
Each piece of meat is sealed and then an inspector checks that the seals are still intact. Any meat with a broken seal is pulled off the shelf.

Inspectors also check the exact quantities to ensure that no additional animals were added.
The koran has allowed Muslims who eat only halal meat to also buy kosher meat.

By: Moses Gold

(Scroll down for video) When he bought his repair shop in 1995, Greg Kohfeldt, owner of Kohfeldt auto repair in Florence, New Jersey, could not imagine that that the toilet and sink that once belonged to Adolf Hitler, would be of interest to many people.

Kohfeldt of the New Jersey garage said that up to a dozen people pass his business each month just to see the toilet, that once belonged to Adolf Hitler. “One pregnant woman asked to take a photo while sitting on the toilet, while others take photos and video of it,” Kohfeldt said.

Kohfeldt said that the sink and toilet were installed by the previous body shop owner in the 1950s. “When I bought the shop, the previous owner told me that the toilet came from Hitler’s favorite yacht, the Aviso Grille,” Kohfeldt said.

The Aviso Grille yacht had over 30 luxurious cabins and stretched 443 feet along the waterline. It was the largest yacht afloat at the time.

Last year, a television show asked Kohfeldt to bring his sink and toilet to London and he did. The show paid for his travel expenses as well as the expenses to ship the sink and toilet to London.

The items were displayed on the TV show, “Four Rooms.” It is a television program where four dealers make competitive offers to buy unique items from members of the public.

Unfortunately, nobody in the program wanted to buy the items since there is no way to authenticate it.

After the show, the items were shipped back to New Jersey. The toilet was not damaged but the sink was shattered into many small pieces.
