A Palestinian man received a long jail sentence for clicking a facebook like button on a post that allegedly ridiculed the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, according to court proceedings in Palestine.

The Palestinian man who clicked like on a facebook status criticizing the Palestinian National Authority has been sentenced to six months in prison.

“The people of Palestine live in fear from this regime who watch every move we make even on facebook and twitter. If we click on like or share on something they do not like they throw us in jail,” an angry palestinian resident in Bethlehem told

By: David Ross

A wild herd of steers brought out the local Austrian police officers and firefighters who attempted to round them up by chasing them around town, according to press reports in Austria.

The Austrian police and firefighters have taken on the role of urban cowboys during the two day raid of a herd of cattle that came out of a pasture fence and decided to go into town.

A police statement said that 43 steers challenged attempts by volunteer firefighters and police to recapture them after wandering towards the city in Upper Austria, Freistadt. After being chased out from the train station, the herd went on to endanger drivers by stampeding onto a two-lane road, before getting into a suburb of the city.

Two firefighters who tried to stop them were wounded and needed hospital treatment.
The statement said that 18 of the animals still remain at large. The rest have been cornered or tranquilizers, according to reports.

“I am used to seeing police officers chasing rioters across Europe. Recently, there have been riots because of the European debt crisis. I never saw police officer chasing around animals,” Bradt Lingshaw, 59, a resident of Freistadt, Austria, who saw the police activity told

Police officers bark like dogs in order to trick suspects

Police officers with dogs
By: David Ross

(Scroll down for video) Police dogs can remain on leave as police officers showed that they can bark just like them, according to press reports in Connecticut.

Some police officers in Connecticut have more bark than bite. Their animal instincts were exactly what was needed in order to take down a couple of suspects.

A local television news station reported that a pair of masked robbery suspects had hidden inside a house in Connecticut and refused to cooperate with authorities. Therefore, the police decided that the next logical step was issuing a threat to their freedom by using the K-9 unit.

There was one problem as none of the dogs were actually at the scene or available to be sent in the effort.
Therefore, the police department has managed to the job with resources at hand, enlisting several dozen officers on site barking like dogs in an effort to convince the two suspects to surrender before they are released at them.

In a surprising development, it actually worked. After the men heard the barking police officers, they left the house and surrendered to police.

“I never thought that police officers can bark like real dogs until I saw what had happened. I must say that I am impressed that it actually worked,” Joseph Guardo, 34, from Connecticut, who saw the incident told

The suspects, Kwame Wells-Jordan, 20, and Norman Boone, 23, have been charged with auto theft and robbery with additional charges expected soon.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Shareyll Hunter
By: David Ross

(Scroll down for video) A pregnant woman nearly killed another pregnant woman after ramming her car into her in a jealous rage, according to press reports in Houston, Texas.

The pregnant woman was seriously injured early Thursday when the other pregnant woman intentionally hit her with a car, pinning her against a home in southwest Houston, police said.

The incident occurred in the 9600 block of Ravensworth Drive, where Christopher Chaney lives with his pregnant girlfriend, Alise Kelly.

Chaney said that his 26-year-old former girlfriend, Shareyll Hunter, who is also pregnant, showed up at the house on Thursday and began arguing with Kelly.

"I was sleeping in my house, and then came one of the mothers of my children," Chaney said. "I mean, they have been texting and talking on the phone saying they want to fight each other and get together and do it right here," Chaney added.

Hunter jumped into Chaney’s car and rammed the car into her 21-year-old rival. The 21-year-old was pinned between the car and the house, police said.

Witnesses heard Kelly screaming in pain.
Kelly was rushed to the hospital with two broken legs. Doctors had to amputate one of her feet. The baby is expected to be fine.
Hunter fled in the four-door Lincoln LS belonging to her former boyfriend.

Hunter is five months pregnant and the victim is four months pregnant. Chaney, 26, said he is the father of both unborn babies.

Chaney has two other children with Hunter. He boasted that he also fathered children with two other women, for a total of four, with two more on the way.

“Chaney should begin working instead of doing nothing all day and making all these babies. This just is creating problems for everyone,” a family friend told

Police are still looking to arrest Hunter for assault.

Venezuelan president calls opposition candidate Capriles the son of Hitler

Nicolas Maduro
By: Ryan Lee Hall

The acting president of Venezuela showed his true colors recently by calling the opposition party and its supporters the heirs of Hitler, according to press reports in Venezuela.

The interim president, Nicolas Maduro, the heir of the late Hugo Chavez has attacked supporters of his rival in the upcoming presidential elections as the "heirs of Hitler."

He called the opposition on Saturday, the "heirs of Hitler" because they are carrying out a campaign of "intolerance" for criticizing the presence of Cuban doctors in Venezuela as local artists have joined the Maduro campaign.

The leftist Chavez died in the beginning of the month and his vice-president, Maduro, now has to run for office in a special election to complete the term of the late leader.

His rival, Henrique Capriles, is the unified opposition candidate and was defeated by Chavez in a vote in last year.

Capriles ran a positive campaign against Chavez and the leftist president responded that Capriles is like a pampered member of the "rancid oligarchy" taking orders from Washington.

With Chavez gone, Capriles, who is Catholic, but has Jewish roots as his grandparents were victims of the Holocaust, is tearing into Maduro, and mocks him as a cheap clone of Chavez and a puppet of Havana.

“When a candidate stoops so low and needs to frame the opposition as something they are clearly not in order to create fear with the public, that is a showing of weakness not strength,” Robert Hernandez, 69, of Caracas, Venezuela, who is a Capriles supporter told

A recent poll however, is showing that Capriles will be defeated again by a wide margin.

Israel begins using its own natural gas for the first time

Israeli natural gas rig
By: Ryan Lee Hall

After years of relying on foreign imports from neighboring hostile countries for natural gas, Israel, has finally begun using its very own natural gas for the first time, according to a statement made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The natural gas has begun to flow from one of the significant gas fields located in Israeli territory.
the Israeli Ministry of Energy said that the gas from the Tamar offshore field started flowing for the first time on Saturday and will reach a processing center on the coast of Israel on Sunday afternoon.

Tamar was discovered in 2009 and has about 8.5 trillion cubic feet of gas. Another field, called Leviathan, is estimated to hold about 16 trillion cubic feet, and is expected to go online in 2016.

Until now, Israel has relied on imports to meet most of its energy needs. The new gas discoveries are expected to supply the domestic needs of Israel for decades and could turn the country into an energy exporter.

“This is not only a significant economic development for Israel. It is a significant security development as well as Israel will not have to rely on neighboring hostile Muslim nations such as Egypt for its energy needs,” Ben Young, 58, a Middle East political expert in New York City told

Germany launches 'Jew In The Box' museum exhibit

Jew in the box exhibit in Germany
By: Ryan Lee Hall

(Scroll down for video) A new museum exhibit about Jews is causing discomfort for many Jews who claim that despite the positive goal of the exhibit putting the Jews in a museum as an exhibit is offensive, according to press reports in Germany.

Almost 70 years after the Holocaust, with less than 200,000 Jews among the 82 million inhabitants of Germany, few Germans born after World War II know any Jews or much about them.

To help educate the postwar generations, an exhibition at the Jewish Museum has a Jew or a woman sitting inside a glass box for two hours a day to answer questions from visitors about Jews and Jewish life. The base of the box asks: "Are there still Jews in Germany?"

"Many of our visitors do not know anything about Jews and have questions they want to have answered," the official at the museum, Tina Luedecke, said. "This exhibit offers an opportunity for people to know more about Jews and Jewish life," she added.
Not everyone thinks that putting a Jew on display is the best way to foster understanding and mutual respect.

Since the exhibition opened earlier this month, the "Jew in the box," as it is popularly known, has been criticized within the Jewish community, especially in the city where the Nazis orchestrated the slaughter of 6 million Jews until the defeat of Adolf Hitler in 1945.

“This is a quick and easy way to reach a lot of Germans and educate them about Jews by answering their own questions they may have been carrying around for a long time without anyone to answer them. So in my opinion this is a very good idea,” Jonathan Siman Tov, 49, an Israeli currently living in Berlin, Germany told
Other Jews however don’t necessarily agree.

“I think that this is the wrong way to educate people about Jews. There should be other more positive ways to answer questions people may have. Not every subject is taught with a museum exhibit,” Miriam Goldberg, 39, from Miami, Florida told

U.S. beach access restricted to protect seals from being harassed by people

Sign warning people against entering the beach area
By: Debbie Gross

(Scroll down for video) Beach access has been restricted to people in order to protect animals.

In the past, beach access was restricted to protect people from drowning in the water during bad weather. Now, one beach is closed to protect seals against people.

The mayor of San Diego, California, Bob Filner, has restricted access to a beach. The La Jolla Shores are now off limits to the public between sunset and sunrise.

La Jolla Shores is a sandy beach approximately one mile long. In the summer, waves at this beach are usually the most gentle of all San Diego beaches. La Jolla Shores lies adjacent to the San Diego La Jolla Underwater Park Ecological Reserve.

The emergency order came after a video was uploaded to YouTube showing two women harassing seals during the night hours.

The beach has more than 200 seals who regularly come to the area for shelter and as a breeding colony in the breeding season.

This particular beach has long been in dispute between wildlife advocates and beach goers. Wildlife advocates claim that the seals are a tourist attraction and a local asset that must be protected. While others argue that the city beach belongs to humans.

“It does not seem to be fair to punish the public for the action of two irresponsible girls,”Jackalyn Rosowsky, 28, a San Diego, California resident told

The beach is referred to as the Children's Pool. It was originally designated as a safe place for children since the water generally remains calm, making it a safer place for kids.

When seals are present, authorities block off a large area so that people don’t get too close to the seals.

But after the video showed the girls “causing stress" to the seals by squatting on them while posing for pictures, and intentionally chasing the seals the mayor decided to protect the animals and closed the beach to humans at night.
In the video below you can see the girls harassing the seals.

Beijing, China outlaws buying a second home

Beijing China
By: Debbie Gross

Single people with enough money to buy a second home and vacation homes will now have to look outside of China’s large city to make their purchases, according to a new order issued by the local Beijing government.

The capital of China, Beijing, banned single person households from purchasing more than one home and increased the minimum down payment rule for all buyers of second homes as the government tries to cool the overheating property market.

The new measures went in force today, the official Chinese press reported. The city also will impose a 20 percent tax on capital gains from the property, it also said. Previous rules allowed each household with a Beijing residence to buy a second home, opening the way for couples to divorce in order to double its investment capacity.

"This will help calm the panic of people on housing prices," Yi Xianrong, a Beijing-based researcher at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, which advises the Council of Ministers, said. "At the same time, restrictions on home purchases do not change the fundamental demand, and it seems that the new measures in Beijing are aimed more at short-term problems rather than long-term healthy development of the property market," the expert added.

“It will be pretty difficult for the government to enforce the rule in practical terms since people will buy their second and third homes under companies they control or by using their friends and family members to purchase additional homes. If someone has the money then that person will find a way to buy,” Zhong Dhong, 66, a real estate broker in China told

The home prices in Beijing rose 5.9 percent from a year earlier, last month, the biggest increase in several years, the National Bureau of Statistics of China said. The prices in the country increased by 160 percent over the last 15 years after properties were passed into private hands, according to the government data.

The municipal government of Shanghai, where prices of new homes last month rose 3.4 percent from the previous year, also issued a notice saying that the city will increase down payment requirements and interest rates for mortgages of second homes, while prohibiting banks from lending to third home buyers.

Daneta McPherson
By: Eva Fett

(Scroll down for video) A bus aide was arrested and charged with harassment related charges after she was caught on video torturing a little special needs child, according to police reports in Florida.

Port Saint Lucie police reports said that Saint Lucie County school bus video showed 37-year-old Daneta McPherson screaming violently at the student. She also grabbed the boy, violently placed in his seat and his head was slammed against the window.

The victim is a special education student at Rivers Edge Elementary School.

McPherson is an assistant that has continually harassed the boy on bus rides to and from school, according to reports. Often, the crying boy replied. Port Saint Lucie deputy Robert del Toro said he thought it was a case of bullying.

The bus video, taken late last year, shows five separate incidents of abuse.
“When parents put their special needs child on the school bus they expect that their child will be taken care of and not abused like this. This is a terrible breach of trust,” a mother with a special needs child told

McPherson was released from jail in Saint Lucie County on Friday afternoon.
The police report said that the driver and the second bus aide were suspended after these incidents.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Kenneth Kuban
By: Eva Fett

A man was arrested and charged with harassment related charges after he posted a fake craigslist advertisement in the casual encounters section, according to police reports in Washington DC.

A 64-year-old woman, nervously peeks through her window blinds as yet another strange man comes walking down the driveway looking for sex.

These and other strangers showed up at her door as a result of a false advertisement that her former boyfriend posted on the casual encounters section of, police said.

Kenneth Kuban, a library Congress worker who is 61-years-old, allegedly sent emails with photos of his former girlfriend and her home address in Marshall, Virginia to men who responded to the advertisement looking for sex.

"I'm an old lady who is looking for some fun and adventure in my life! I would you like to meet a gentleman in his 50s who can give me some pleasuring,” the advertisement said.

Kuban had a restraining order against him, but apparently still found a way to harass the woman long after the collapse of their six-month relationship in 2011.

“I can’t imagine the fear this elderly woman now has to live with. Every moment she keeps running to the window checking if any strange sex hungry man is knocking at her door,” Michael Thomas, 58, a Marshall, Virginia resident told

Pimp forces prostitute, 13, to get eyelid tattoo with his name

Roman Thomas III
By: Eva Fett

(Scroll down for video) A sick pimp in Miami, Florida, forced an underage prostitute to tattoo his name on her eyelids, according to police reports in Miami, Florida.

Police said that this all happened when the prostitute, 13, tried to leave her pimp. That is when the man forced her into a Miami tattoo parlor and tattooed his street name on her eyelids.

The teen is now carrying his nickname, Suave, on her right eyelid. On her left eyelid the word “house” was tattooed, suggesting that she was his.

Suave, formally known as Roman Thomas III, was arrested on Monday by police in Miami. The 26-year-old and a female accomplice, Shanteria Sanders, forced and coerced the young girl to become a prostitute, giving her drugs to keep her obedient.

Nicknamed Sparkle, the teen escaped from a troubled home. She met Thomas in the beginning of the month at the USA Flea Market in Miami. A day later, he saw her and convinced her to come home with him.

He lived in a Miami Shores Motel. It was there that Thomas and Sanders took provocative photos of the girl, uploading them to the classified section of Sparkle was heralded as the new girl, according to police reports.

Thomas and Sanders then forced the 13-year-old to become a prostitute. She was given condoms and taught how to talk to customers. They used drugs and alcohol to keep the girl dependent on them.

Once, when the two realized that some money was missing, they duct-taped the girl and threatened to kill her, according to police.

After Sparkle threatened to flee, Thomas and Sanders dragged her back to the flea market, where she was tattooed.
"It is outrageous that this girl is marked for life at such a young age, of all places on the eyelids," a police detective told a Miami, Florida based newspaper.

The runaway teen’s mother tracked down her daughter and led police to her pimp, according to reports.
“Police caught a lucky break because there was a concerned family member looking out for the young girl. There are however, thousands of girls with no one to look after them who are in real danger,” Mark Gerald, a Miami, Florida therapist told

Thomas and Sanders face charges of human trafficking, illegal, obscene and lascivious exhibition and delivery of a controlled substance to a child.

Alexis Wright
By: Moses Gold

(Scroll down for video) The popular Zumba sex instructor scandal is apparently over after the girl behind the prostitution business pleaded guilty to many charges against her, according to court proceedings in Maine.

The dance instructor accused of using her Zumba fitness club as a front for prostitution pleaded guilty Friday to 20 counts in a scandal that captivated a quiet seaside city.

The plea agreement spares Alexis Wright from her fast approaching high-profile trial with sex videos, exhibitionism and pornography, and more than a thousand texts and emails detailing her prostitution operation. Prosecutors will recommend a prison sentence of 10 months.

Wright, who is 30-years-old, was accused of conspiring with her insurance agent, Mark Strong, of running a prostitution business which kept detailed records indicating she made $150,000 over a period of 18 months. She also was accused of using a hidden camera to record sexual acts without the knowledge of her clients.

“I’m glad this is over. This case has been hanging over our little city for too long, a resident of Kennebunk, Maine,” told Others however, were not so supportive.

“I kind of looked forward for her trial to begin. It would have been quite entertaining, like a reality television show,” Stacy Herbman, 37, of New York City told

Strong, 57, of Thomaston, was convicted of 13 charges related to the promotion of prostitution and sentenced to 20 days in jail.
Wright quietly replied guilty 20 times when the judge read the charges, including involvement in prostitution, promoting prostitution, conspiracy to promote prostitution, tax evasion and theft by deception.
