(Scroll down for video) A world renowned singer was sued for $100 million after ripping off her former business partner, according to a new lawsuit filed in a California court.

The former boyfriend and former business partner of Shakira is suing the Colombian singer for $100 million, saying he is the chief architect of her success.

The entrepreneur, Antonio de la Rua of Argentina said that their separate business partnership, which ended in 2011, when Shakira signed a new partnership with management company Roc Nation, entitles him to $100 million from Shakira.

De la Rua and Shakira, whose real name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, met in 2000 and began dating shortly thereafter.
In the lawsuit filed Friday in Superior Court of California, De la Rua said the success of Shakira, was not just about her luck, but the result of an uphill battle to conquer the music world that Mebarak and Rua fought together as business partners.

The Rua called himself the chief architect of her management team and business plan that set Shakira on the road to lasting financial success, according to the lawsuit.

“Seems like Shakira is a big rip off like a lot of other famous Hollywood stars. Many become extremely ignorant and just bad human beings. Shame on her,” Lisa Elder, 24, of Hollywood, California told
However, not everyone agreed with Elder.

“Some people are just jealous of her. Seems like her former boyfirend regrets breaking up with her now that Shakira is a success and is looking to take her money,” Betty Renkin, 25, of Sacramento, California told after learning about the lawsuit.

The singer recently signed a 10 year deal with Live Nation worth $300 million.
The lawsuit cites as evidence and email Shakira sent to Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino in 2011 that said: "The break up from my boyfriend only involves the romantic aspect of our relationship. Rua’s word is mine. We remain partners in all our projects."Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

The victim, 63, was approached by a man outside a 7-Eleven store in Long Beach, California on Friday afternoon.

When the 37-year-old panhandler, Raymond Sean Clark, begged for some change, the elderly man simply said no and kept walking into the convenience store.

Upon leaving, the suspect followed the victim to his truck, and then poured a flammable substance through an open window, and ignited the victim and his car. “He lit the car on fire and within minutes, the truck and passenger were engulfed in flames,” a witness told a local television news station.

"With the door open, you could see everything inside was in flames," another witness said. "He rushed out and it was horrible. His shirt was on fire, his head was on fire," the witness said.

Police have detained the suspect and was charged with arson and attempted murder.
The authorities are calling it an act of random violence. The two men are not believed to have known each other.

Now, New York school district officials have said that the teacher of high school English students who told students to pretend to be Jew haters was placed on leave.

The teacher of an Albany High School caused the storm of criticism after ordering her students to practice the art of persuasive argument, by writing a letter to a fictional Nazi government official arguing that Jews are evil.

District Superintendent Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard held a press conference on Friday apologizing for the assignment.

A local New York newspaper reported that the teacher was not in class on Friday and has been placed on leave.

The school district has not named the teacher, who was described as a veteran. School administrators found out about this week’s assignment after the father of one of the students complained. Some students refused to write the assignment, however, others did.

“This is the most outrageous teacher I have seen so far in New York. I am angry that this teacher, who is a veteran at the school, ordered her students to write Nazi propaganda and lies about the Jews. I hope she never returns to a classroom,” Laura Rouse, 42, of Albany, New York told after learning about the assignment.

(Scroll down for video) A woman received $100,000 in parking tickets after her boyfriend abandoned her car at a Chicago, Illinois airport, according to court proceedings in Illinois.

Now, the Chicago woman is trying to get out of paying for parking tickets that have grown to more than $100,000.
The woman behind the lawsuit was identified as Jennifer Fitzgerald. She filed a lawsuit last year against the city after receiving about $105,000 worth of tickets that the police piled on her car.

The car was abandoned for almost three years in a parking lot at O'Hare International Airport.
A judge dismissed the lawsuit this week and pressed the parties to work harder to reach an agreement.

Fitzgerald said that she should not be held responsible for the tickets because her former boyfriend left the car at the parking lot reserved for airport employees. She said the car is only worth about $600.
The lawsuit also names her former boyfriend, Brandon Preveau.

The woman also holds the record for owing the most for car tickets in Chicago.
“That is some gigantic number of parking tickets. The city should use some common sense and realize that they are charging the wrong person. I feel sorry for this woman,” Brenda Shea, 30, from Chicago Illinois told, after learning about the $105,000 in tickets.

The city has offered to settle the parking tickets for just $4,000 but Fitzgerald has rejected the offer saying that her former boyfriend refused to pay half.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
