(Scroll down for video) A student was arrested and charged with causing a disturbance related charges after he refused a request by his teacher to remove his NRA t-shirt he wore to school, according to police reports in West Virginia.

The West Virginia eighth-grade student has been charged with causing a disruption inside a high school after he refused to remove the NRA shirt.

Jared Marcum faces charges of obstruction and disrupting the educational process, for refusing to change his shirt, which showed a rifle and the slogan, "protect your right."

Marcum told a local television news station that he was punished by the officials of Logan Middle School after arguing about the shirt with his teacher, who apparently objected to the image of the gun.

"What they are doing is trying to take away my rights, my freedom of speech and my second amendment," Jared told the television news station.

Marcum’s father Allen Lardieri told the television news station that he is upset that his son was jailed briefly for something he believes was blown out of proportion.

"I do not see how anyone could have a problem with a hunting rifle and NRA written on a shirt, especially when the policy does not forbid it," Lardieri told the television news station.

“I think that schools, teachers and police are taking the whole gun violence thing way over the line. Why is it a problem to wear an NRA with a gun but not a problem to wear a shirt showing a Hollywood actor with a gun? This whole thing is silly,” Larry Moore, 23, of Huntington, West Virginia told after learning about the arrest and school suspension.

Some of Marcum’s friends wore shirts that apparently showed pictures of guns in protest of the school action and at least one was told by a teacher to change the shirt.

Sharon Dixon
By: Moses Gold

(Scroll down for video) A woman died after participating in an egg competition after she swallowed too many hard boiled eggs, according to hospital officials in the United Kingdom.

Sharon Dixon, 54, participated in the egg eating contest at the Wellington Arms, Grimsby, when she began to choke.

Friends and the bar staff called police around 2:00 pm on Monday after Sharon began to turn blue during the competition.
Dixon was rushed to a hospital but died two days later.
Her daughter Toni, today thanked those who tried to save the life of her mother.

She said: "I have seen CCTV footage of what happened and it is clear that her friends and everyone did their best to help my mom. She died while she was surrounded by her friends. I think more people should learn first aid though. If more people have this knowledge, they can stop incidents like this from happening in the future.”

Jackie Cook, who had known Sharon for more than 20 years, said: "She would do anything for anyone. She was very strong willed and always there for anyone who needed help. Her whole life was happy. Everybody knew her and she knew everyone.”

“I believe the government should ban these types of dangerous competitions. Too many people die every year of these types of contests. Not long ago, a man died in Florida during a bug eating contest. It is very sad when a life is lost because of a silly contest,” Anna Taylor, 20, of Bristol, United Kingdom told after learning about the death.

A close friend, who declined to be named, said: "Sharon was a lovely woman. Nobody would have anything bad to say about her. We were very close. Everyone will have a nice story to tell about her. She was full of life."Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Man burned alive after drinking last beer from fridge

Paul Stamp
By: Moses Gold

(Scroll down for video) Two men were arrested and charged with murder related charges after burning a man alive because he allegedly drank the last beer from the fridge, according to court proceedings in Australia.

The Australian man was beaten unconscious, locked in the trunk of a car and burned alive, a court was told on Tuesday.

Two men pleaded not guilty to murdering 47-year-old Paul Stamp by locking him in the car and set it on fire because they were angry that he had taken a beer from the fridge in the apartment they shared.

The court was told that Gregory Channing, 41, and Gary Miles, 40, returned to their apartment one day late last year to find the last beer that was in the fridge was missing.

Crown Prosecutor Paul Ushere told a Darwin court that the two men woke up Stamp in his room and beat him unconscious.
Then they dragged him down the stairs, placed him inside the trunk of the car and locked it, the court heard.
Miles then allegedly poured gasoline over the vehicle and set it on fire.

The court also heard that firefighters and police were called to the scene of a burning car at three in the morning. When police arrived at the scene they found the body of Stamp in the trunk.

The dead man's father, Jack Stamp, 71, told the court that the family, including Paul's mother Helen, 70, and his younger brother Craig, were devastated.

“This is a grave crime that was committed for a seemingly silly reason. There is no reason to murder another person especially over a beer. I hope the jury finds these men guilty and they got locked away for a long time,” Lisa Nelson, 24, of Brisbane Australia told after learning about the incident.

The trial is still ongoing.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Dog finds woman's lost bag after two years

Holly Bobo
By: John Roberts

(Scroll down for video) After several years, a dog found a missing woman’s purse which might lead investigators to some clues in solving the mystery of her disappearance, according to press reports in Tennessee.

Two years after the Tennessee nursing student went missing, a dog dug up the first piece of evidence in a case that had long since gone cold.

Just a mile from the home of Holly Bobo in Darden, a neighborhood dog found her leather bag.
It is unclear what was inside the bag or if it was intentionally buried.

Bobo, then 20, was last seen on April 13, 2011 by her brother. She was going to school when Clint said he saw a man dressed in camouflage grab her by the arm, pulling her into the woods. Clint reportedly thought the man was Bobo's boyfriend, but later became concerned and contacted her mother, who called emergency services.

A neighbor also called emergency services when he heard a woman screaming shortly after 7:30 am.
A pool of blood was found next to the garage of the family on the day of her disappearance. Investigators believe her kidnapping was premeditated.

Bobo's family has not given up hope in the search for the woman, who is the cousin of country singer Whitney Duncan.

“The family must be extremely excited at this new glimmer of hope after waiting 2 years for a sign of their missing daughter. Hopefully, investiagtors will now be able to break the case open and finally bring closure to the grieving family,” Betty Phillips, 39, of Lincoln, Nebraska told after learning about the find.

Bobo is described as a white woman, 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds, with blond hair. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans. Bobo’s abductor is described as 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, and weighing about 200 pounds.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Vatican City computers caught downloading adult movies

Adult movies illustration
By: John Roberts

(Scroll down for video) Computers in Vatican City were caught downloading hundreds of adult movies, according to press reports in Italy.

A news website reporting on the file sharing industry has produced a report alleging that computers inside Vatican City have been downloading illegal adult movies.

The news website enlisted the help of ScanEye, a website that tracks and analyzes online activity. The data from the site showed that computers inside Vatican City have files with names of adult movie star on their download queue, including some with bondage, domination, sadism and masochism or BDSM in short.

A resident in Vatican City has downloaded a movie starring transsexual adult movie actress Tiffany Starr. Others movie stars included Sheena Shaw, Lea Lexis and Krissy Lynn.

“I think that church officials should somehow restrict their computers from being able to access adult movies. As a Christian, I am ashamed to learn the type of movies which were being downloaded in the holy city,” Sandra Stone, 26, of Omaha, Nebraska told after learning about the adult movies scandal.

While recent downloads were traced to Vatican City computers, that does not automatically mean that church officials were the ones who were watching these adult movies. There are others who work for the Vatican, including the Swiss Guard, who also have daily access to Vatican City computers.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Garbage bin in toilet illustration
By: Sarah Weiss

(Scroll down for video) Several Muslim students were expelled from an Israeli college after they were caught vandalizing mezuzahs, according to press reports in Israel.

Students at Ruppin College were horrified to learn that two Muslim students studying at the college vandalized mezuzahs by ripping them and throwing them in the toilet.

The manager of the facility noticed one day that the mezuzahs were missing on several doors and when he went to investigate he found ripped mezuzahs inside the toilet garbage bins.

One of the students told a local newspaper: "The two Muslims were angry after the management of the college threatened to suspend one of them for poor grades. The students are 19-years-old."

Another student said: “As a Jew studying in a Hebrew college I am shocked about this incident. I never thought something like this can happen here in Israel. These two students should be severely punished and charged with hate crimes.”

Meanwhile, over in Brooklyn, New York, more than 12 mezuzahs were burned, as we reported several weeks ago.
The severe anti-semitic attack was reported in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York and has occurred during the Holocaust Rememberance Day.

Vandals burned numerous mezuzahs, or a scroll place at every Jewish door, according to police reports in Brooklyn, New York.

At least 12 mezuzahs were burned at a Williamsburg apartment building Monday afternoon in a possible anti-Semitic hate crime on Holocaust Remembrance Day, police said.

The Hate Crimes Unit of the New York Police Department was investigating after the 12 mezuzahs were discovered burned at 85 Taylor Street, at the Taylor-Wythe housing complex, about 4:45 pm, police said.

Mezuzahs are Jewish ritual objects containing parchment inscribed with Hebrew Biblical verses and hung on the frame of doors.
“I was shocked to see the vandalism. This is a terrible hate crime against the Jewish comminuty especially on a day the Jewish world mourns the 6 million Jews that were killed during World War 2,” Menachem Fishman, 30, a resident of the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York told after learning about the incident.

"Nothing but hatred can explain why a person burns mezuzahs on Yom Hashoah, the day we remember the 6 million Jews killed during the Holocaust," Public Advocate Bill de Blasio said in a statement. "This is a disgusting act of prejudice affecting the essence of who we are as a city. Make no mistake: we will find those responsible."

The Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York is home to thousands of Satmar Chasidim.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

By: Ryan Lee Hall

(Scroll down for video) Union bus workers will go on strike because their new uniform pants are too tight.

Bus drivers filed a strike notice, in Marseille, a city in France. They are reportedly going on strike because among other issues, their uniform pants are too tight.

The drivers work for the RTM public transport authority in Marseille. The company's 1,600 employees are planning to strike because they do not approve of the "fit, quality, and color" of their new uniform pants, according to press reports in France.

"Bus drivers have to be comfortable as they sit on the bus for many hours at a time. Many people depend on the bus drivers to get to and from work safely everyday. I definitely do not want my bus driver to squirm in his seat and be uncomfortable while driving," Cheryl Spencer, 42, of Paris, France told after learning about the strike.

Union leaders are angry as they were not consulted in the choice of uniforms, CGT union leader Bernard Gargiolo said.

Man completes walk from Sweden to Jerusalem

Jorgen Nilsson on his way to Jerusalem Israel
By: Sarah Weiss

(Scroll down for video) A man has just completed a long journey of walking about 7 million footsteps from Sweden all the way to Jerusalem, Israel, according to press reports in Israel.

Jorgen Nilsson, 39, the Knight Hospitaller of the Order of Saint Lazarus, completed this week his six months, 4,500 miles and seven million footsteps from Sweden to Jerusalem.

Nilsson left the city of Lund in southern Sweden in November of last year. He finally arrived in Jerusalem this week.

His journey took Nilsson through Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Greece and Jordan. This past week, he arrived at the Israeli port city of Haifa.

Nilsson explained why he decided to embark on this walk: "Jerusalem has always been a critical point and is a symbol of the efforts to achieve world peace."

He also said that since his congregation headquarters has recently moved to Jerusalem he wanted to symbolize it by a walk from Sweden to Jerusalem.

An engineer by profession, Nilsson also served in the Swedish Army Reserves. Nilsson said he was excited about his arrival in Israel. After a short rest, Nilsson was scheduled to be awarded the "key to the city" by the Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat.

“It is very nice to see how people of other religions are devoted to Israel and to Jerusalem in particular. As a Jew, it warms my heart,” Nathan Rose, of Jerusalem, Israel told after learning about the journey.

Israeli doctors in Boston say they are used to treating victims and terrorists at the same time

Professor Kevin Tabb
By: Shifra Unger

(Scroll down for video) Several top Israeli doctors in the Boston hospital currently treating the Boston terrorist said that they are used to treating victims and terrorists at the same time. They were reminded of home when they were doctors in Israel, according to press reports in ISrael.

Many of the wounded in the attacks during the Boston Marathon on Monday were taken to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Several days later, on Friday, the two suspected terrorists, Tamerlane and Dzohkhar Tsarnaev were admitted separately to the emergency room of the hospital after suffering injuries from their encounter with the police. The older brother, Tamerlane, later died as a result of his injuries.

Two of the hospital's most senior officials are Israelis, who actively participated in the unfolding drama of the last few days.

Professor Kevin Tabb has served as president of the medical center and CEO since September 2011. Tabb studied medicine at the Hebrew University, where he earned his degree. According to the website of Beth Israel Deaconess, Tabb was born in the United States, he immigrated to Israel at the age of 18 and served in the Israel Defense Forces. Tabb completed his residency in internal medicine at Hadassah Medical Center, and after 20 years in Israel, he returned to the U.S.

"Unfortunately, the way events unfolded was very similar to what we used to see in Israel," Tabb said. "It's hard, but you have to ignore the emotions at the door and treat any patient who comes in," he added.

Tabb praised the hospital medical team for doing "an amazing job". He noted that the alleged terrorists were given the same level of medical care as their victims.

"Every time an injured party reaches the emergency room trauma section, doctors and nurses do what they are trained to do, and forget everything else," Tabb said.

Talmor, another senior Israeli born doctor at the hospital, was born in Jerusalem and studied medicine at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, where he graduated in 1991. He arrived to Boston 12 years ago and decided to stay in the U.S.

"I remember how, when I worked at Soroka Medical Center in Be’er Sheba, we had wounded soldiers lying alongside terrorists," Talmor said.

“I must say that these doctors deserve praise. It would be extremely difficult for me to be able to ignore my emotions if I would see a wounded terrorist enter a hospital. Maybe that is why I am not a doctor,” Melvin Gray, 50, of Boston Massachusetts told after learning about the doctors.

Last week, doctors praised an Israeli team for properly preparing the Boston hospital in the event of a terror attack.
As we reported last week, a top doctor at the Boston hospital where many injured were treated credited an Israeli team who set up the hospital to be able to treat victims of terror attacks, according to video uploaded to the internet.

The doctor said that the Israeli team taught his team how to respond to such disastrous attacks.

"About two years ago, in fact, we asked the Israelis to come down here and they helped us create our disaster team so we can respond to these type of attacks," Alastair Conn, director of Emergency Services at the Massachusetts General Hospital, in response to a question about the readiness of its staff to handle the trauma of this magnitude.

In a response to a question from a reporter the doctor said: "Oh, absolutely, absolutely this is like a bomb explosion we hear in the news in Iraq or Israel or some other tragic place in the world," he said.

“After listening to this doctor I think other hospitals in the United States should invite that Israeli team in order to better prepare their hospital in the event of a terror attack,” Dennis Goldstein, 30, of Boston, Massachusetts told after listening to the doctor’s statements.Mobile video not loading? Samsung Vice President visits Israeli yeshiva in Sha’alabim

Charlie Park, Vice President of Samsung Korea
By: David Ross

After some South Korean schools officially began studying the Talmud in order to better understand Jews, the Vice President of Samsung made a personal visit to an Israeli yeshiva in order to witness first hand their Talmud study, according to press reports in Israel.

By Aryeh Savir

Tazpit News Agency For

Charlie Park, Vice President of Samsung Korea, visited an Israeli Yeshiva at Sha’alabim last week. He was accompanied by a South Korean camera crew. Their objective was to document how students study Talmud at the Yeshiva. Park met with the program directors and with students.

The South Koreans have developed a fascination with the study of Talmud. The country’s ambassador to Israel, Ma Young-Sam, has told the “Culture Today” TV show that Talmud study is now a mandatory part of the country’s school curriculum. In addition, it is said, almost every home in South Korea boasts a Korean version of the Talmud, and mothers commonly teach it to their children, who call it the "Light of Knowledge."

Young-Sam explained that "We were very curious about the high academic achievements of the Jews. Jews have a high percentage of Nobel laureates in all fields - literature, science and economics. This is a remarkable achievement. We tried to understand: What is the secret of the Jewish people? How are they, more than other people, able to reach those impressive accomplishments? Why are Jews so intelligent? The conclusion we arrived at is that one of your secrets is that you study the Talmud… We believe that if we teach our children Talmud, they will also become geniuses. This is what stands behind the rationale of introducing Talmud study to our school curriculum. I, for example, have two sets of the Talmud,” the ambassador said. “The one my wife bought me, and the second was a gift from my mother.”

Parker was at the Yeshiva to get a first-hand account of this wonder. He stated he was in Israel to review possible requisitions of Israeli startup companies by Samsung.
While touring the Beit Midrash, the study hall, he said he now felt he understood “the growing grounds” of the Jewish genius.

The Florida man was in Louisiana for an audition on X-Factor when he was told that he will be moving on to the next audition.

The 20-year-old man from Jacksonville, was out of money and was looking for a way to get home before heading to his next audition. DeKalb County, Georgia Police sergeant Scott Biumi, 48, was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault after allegedly pulling a gun on a customer at the drive-through line at McDonald’s.

The incident was captured by security cameras in the restaurant. It showed a man in a business suit pulling a gun and pointing it at a driver who was waiting at the drive through window. Man arrested after climbing through neighbor’s doggy door to have sex with woman

Philip John Garcia
By: David Ross

A man was arrested after he used a doggy door to gain access into his neighbor's house to have sex with a woman.

Philip John Garcia, 41, from Perris, California was jailed after he allegedly crawled into his neighbor’s house and then tried to have sex with the woman who lived in the residence.

As Garcia’s neighbor was preparing to go to sleep around 9:30 pm, she heard a knock on her bedroom door. The woman, whose husband had just left for work, opened the door to find Garcia standing before her without any clothes on. Garcia, who appeared to have been intoxicated, told the woman that he was there to have sex with her, according to the Office of the Riverside County Sheriff.

When she recognized that it was his neighbor, she ordered him out of his house and closed the door in his face. Garcia fled the house and returned to his residence.

“This is very scary indeed. Although, officer’s believe that alcohol might have played a role in the incident, the man’s mind was clear enough as he waited until the husband left, and he found a way to enter the locked house,” Barbara Collins, 42, from Las Vegas, California told after she heard about the arrest.

When deputies arrived at the scene, and peered through Garcia's residence window they saw him lying on a bed with no clothes on. They asked him to put on some clothes and come to the door for questioning.

When asked why he was in the house of his neighbor, Garcia explained that he crawled through a dog door with the intention of having sex with the woman. When they searched his home, they found a .22 caliber rifle under the bed. Officers believe he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

Garcia was booked into jail on charges of burglary, indecent exposure, and being a felon in possession of a firearm. His bail was set at $130,000 due to a previous robbery conviction.

The “Fundawear” consists of a bra and a his and her electric underpants, which are controlled by an application.

The underwear was designed by Durex Australia who claims that this can be the "future of foreplay." Now, long distance lovers can also play and tease each other from the other side of the world. The technology made its debut in a video posted on the YouTube page of the company. U.S. to sell $10 billion in weapons to Israel, others

Advanced Israeli fighter jet
By: Ryan Lee Hall

The U.S. has nearly closed a deal that calls for selling $10 billion in advanced military weapons to Israel and several other Middle East countries, according to press reports in the United States.

The Pentagon announced last week that it has reached a preliminary agreement on a complex weapons deal involving selling $10 billion in weapons to Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, in what represents the largest sale of weapons to U.S. allies in the Middle East.

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel will finalize the arms package next week, when he plans to visit the three countries. Ultimately, the agreement will need the approval of Congress.

Under the terms of the agreement, the United States will deliver the V-22 Osprey transport aircraft, KC-135 refueling aircraft and anti-radiation missiles to Israel, about two dozen F-16 fighter aircraft to the United Arab Emirates, and advanced aircraft and missiles to the Saudis.

U.S. officials said the weapons are designed to improve the military capabilities of each country in the event of a conflict with Iran.

U.S. officials said the White House wanted to ensure that Israel maintains a "qualitative military edge" in the region, while at the same time improve Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates defenses. Like the United States and Israel, the two Arab countries suspect Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons and they consider that the greatest threat facing the Middle East.

“I am delighted to see that the Pentagon is taking the Iran threat seriously and providing Israel with the world’s most advanced military helicopters. With these new weapons, Israel will be able to neutralize Iran pretty easily,” Dennis Wagner, 38, of Washington D.C. told after learning about the arms sale.

Overall, Israel receives more annual U.S. military aid than any other foreign country. The White House has proposed giving Israel $3.4 billion next year.

CVS slapped with lawsuit after writing Ching Chong on Korean woman's receipt

CVS receipt showing Lee, Ching Chong
By: Debbie Gross

(Scroll down for video) A U.S. Pharmacy giant was slapped with a lawsuit after writing an offensive remark on a woman’s receipt, according to a new lawsuit filed in court.

Hyun Lee, a woman of Korean descent in New Jersey, took the photos from a CVS receipt she received several months ago, when she realized that her name on the receipt was changed to "Lee, Ching Chong."

Feeling "shocked, stunned, mortified, humiliated and very bad", Lee wrote a complaint to customer relations: "You think this is funny, but this is very disturbing to me!!"

CVS responded in an email, writing that they were "very saddened" about her experience. They pledged to "advise and train" the store employee responsible for the comment.

Lee is now suing the company for $1 million in damages.

"That employee, should have been terminated immediately," Lee’s attorney told a U.S. television news station. "She never received an apology. She never received any follow up after she complained," her lawyer also said.

“CVS has not shown enough remorse for this nasty incident. This racial slur is unacceptable for such a large and prestigious company. I am glad this woman is suing them and I hope CVS will need to pay the $1 million in damages the woman is asking for,” Harold Anderson, 45, of Jersey City, New Jersey told after learning about the lawsuit.

"It appears that the employee is still working at CVS. She will not return to that CVS until they remove that employee", her lawyer said.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

6-year-old girl detained because parents brought her late to school

Brooke Loeffler
By: Eva Fett

(Scroll down for video) A little girl was detained for two days not because something bad she has done at school rather because her parents brought her late, according to press reports in Texas.

When Brooke Loeffler's parents brought her late to the San Antonio area school on several occasions, it was the student who took the fall.

Brooke is just 6-years-old.
The girl, who attends the Olympia Elementary School, spent two days in detention during lunchtime, by herself, against a wall, as school policy dictates.

Although Brooke received the punishment, it was her father who was behaving badly. He even sat down with Brooke during one of her lunch detentions.

"It was my responsibility to prepare her and bring her to school," her father told a local television news station. He added, "I failed that responsibility for a couple of days," he added.

The reason for the delays: Brooke's parents have a new baby in the house, and the family is adjusting to the new routine.
Brooke's family would like to see the Olympia policy changed to punish the parents, not the children. We're betting Brooke would agree with that idea.

Brooke's father told the local television news station: "I said sorry and that it was not going to happen again," the father said.

“It is not fair that little children have to suffer because their parents did something bad. The school policy needs to change immediately,” Janet Baker, 43, of Arlington, Texas told afer hearing about the punishment.

However not everyone agreed with Baker.

“If parents get the message that their little children will face harsh punishments they will do every effort to bring their children to school on time. Coming late to school is extremely disruptive to the class,” Heather Clark, 36, a teacher in Houston, Texas told

The school district admits that its policy is harsh, but said it was extremely effective. Since this policy was established, incidents of showing up late dropped 90 percent.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Texas woman finds ghost pictures on her cellphone

Ghost in photo
By: Eva Fett

(Scroll down for video) A woman said she was horrified to learn that ghost pictures suddenly appeared on her cell phone, according to press reports in Texas.

The Texas woman said that the pictures were snapped during a failed attempt to take a cell phone picture of her nephew. Instead of capturing a nice picture of her nephew the phone captured the images of two figures who she believes are ghosts.

Marcella Davis said she was trying to take a photo of her nephew at Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Texas, but her nephew turned his head.

"He turned around, so I could not take his picture, so I snapped the back of his head instead," she said. "I did not try to take more pictures because he would not let me," she added.

Davis said her daughter was teaching her how to use the zoom function of the mobile phone camera at the end of the day when she saw the figures in the background of the image.

"She said, 'Mom, look at this.’ I was like, 'What?' and she showed me the picture of the shadows," Davis said. “You could just see through the images," she added.

The figures were a man with a light-colored suit with flared trousers and a woman standing behind him.
"For me, there is something that is not normal," she said.

“People often mistake unexplained shadows on photos for ghosts when in reality it is just a lighting issue. Lights and certain positions of pictures can cause all types of shadows to appear in images,” Diane Cox, 49, a family therapist in Arlington, Texas told after learning about the incident.

A woman took drastic measures to prove that her father is really dead, according to press reports in the United Kingdom.

The British woman who took her father's ashes to a bank said she just wanted to prove his death and stop all the harassing debt collection letters.

Siobhan Peers, 31, of Stockport, England said her father, David, died of bone cancer at the age of 67, several years ago, but has since received about 20 letters from the Royal Bank of Scotland seeking to collect a $9.17 overdraft debt.

Peers said that she sent the bank a copy of David’s death certificate within two weeks of his death, but the bank insisted that she show them the original certificate. When the woman didn’t come with the original death certificate the debt grew to $955.31.

"I took my father to the bank and slammed his ashes on the table," Peers said. "I'm tired of being disturbed," she added.

The Royal Bank of Scotland said the account was closed after Peers visit' to the Stockport branch, but more information came to light which meant it was necessary to contact her again.

“The bank personnel should have used common sense and realize that the man is dead. They probably spent more than the $9 debt in trying to recover it, that is just plain stupid,” Frances Hicks, 34, of Cambridge, United Kingdom told after learning about the incident.

The bank said the debt has been passed to a debt collections agency meaning that the woman will continue receiving harassing letters.
