Woman nearly passes out when she saw a tiger in public restroom

The tiger wandering off the stage
By: Moses Gold

(Scroll down for video) A woman thought that her life was over when she suddenly met a tiger inside a public restroom, according to video uploaded to the internet.

A tiger escaped from the Shrine Circus in Salina, Kansas, on Saturday night and wandered into the ladies room.
No one was injured, but the tiger did give the woman a scare of her life, when the two met face to face.

Jenna Krehbiel had just finished watching the show big cat, when she excused herself to go to the bathroom. Around the same time, one of the tigers managed to escape and also went to the bathroom.

"I went to the bathroom, and a lady came to get her daughter and said that there was a loose tiger," Krehbiel told a local newspaper. "I did not know however, that the tiger was in the bathroom, and as I entered the bathroom, I saw the tiger. The big animal was about two feet in front of me. I quickly turned toward the door. Someone opened the door and told me: ‘go,’" she told the newspaper.

“The woman is quite lucky to be alive. There have been other instances where once a wild animal got away from the circus stage people were injured or killed, and not to mention how many circus performers are injured or killed by the wild animals. Maybe, the circus needs to put more safety measures in place that prevent wild animals from escaping the stage,” Angela White, 47, of Bronx, New York told YourJewishNews.com after watching the tiger wandering off the stage.

The woman’s 3-year-old daughter was gloriously in the dark as to the seriousness of the situation. "My daughter wanted to know if they had washed the tiger’s hands because it had just used the restroom," she told the newspaper. "That was her only concern,” she added.Mobile video not loading? New Jersey parents angry after school bans strapless dresses for girls

Girl with strapless dress illustration
By: Moses Gold

(Scroll down for video) Parents are angry, as they claim a school has violated their girls’ constitutional right of wearing strapless dresses, according to press reports in New Jersey.

A New Jersey school principal has banned strapless gowns in dance school because it would be a distraction for boys. The decision has enraged parents, who called on Tuesday for the ban to be revoked on the grounds that it violates the constitutional rights of their daughters.

The dress code ban violates the 14th Amendment right to equal protection under the law, according to the parents, and girls during the past six years have been using sleeveless dresses during dance at Readington Middle School in Readington Township, New Jersey.
The parents asked the school board on Tuesday to overturn the policy before next month’s dance.

The principal, Sharon Moffat, said in a letter last month that a "dress with straps" was the only style that would be allowed.

“The policy for itself may be fine, but the reason given here is questionable. Why would boys at a dance school be distracted by dancing girls? Also, if these boys are distracted by dancing girls, I don’t think it will make much of a difference what type of dresses the girls are wearing. So all said, this rule seems to be a silly one,” Shirley Hass, 28 of Atlantic City, New Jersey told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the strapless dress ban.

At least one student, Claudine Nijenhuis, 14, said she planned to defy the ban and press her right to “bare arms.”Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Scared burglar caught red handed after calling police because he heard noises

Thief breaking into home illustration
By: Moses Gold

If you are too scared to complete a crime don't bother doing it.

A scared thief was arrested and charged with theft related charges shortly after he called police for help. The man told police that he had heard strange noises inside the house he was stealing from.

The scared thief called police from under a bed after he heard a strange noise in the house that was stealing, and got scared.
The 31-year-old man of Romania, was in the midst of robbing the house when he suddenly suspected that another thief had broken into the house, so she called the police to report the noise. The noise, however, came from the family cat.

Marius Lonescu, 31, waited for the police to come to his rescue, but it did not cross his mind that the police will want to know what he was doing in a house that was not his.

The cat had a better reason to be in the house. He lived there.
Police arrested Lonescu when they arrived, after realizing that the only people in the house were he and the cat.

“This is the funniest home invasion related story I ever heard. This man should take a lesson in robbery. If he can't quit being a ‘scary cat’, he shouldn't breaking into people’s houses. Well, at least he is behind bars now,” Ashley Cowan, 27, of Memphis, Tennessee told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the scary cat thief.

Mihaela Straub, a spokesperson from the police in Romania, said: "The noise he heard was probably the family cat. He already has previous convictions for similar robberies, and given his nervousness, he should probably look for another job. He will probably get a lot of time in prison because of his lengthy record.”

Woman who was fatally stabbed by her best friend runs over friend's two children, killing one

Kimberly Black
By: John Roberts

(Scroll down for video) A woman who was fatally stabbed by her best friend ran over her friend’s two children before she died, killing one of them, according to police reports in Ohio.

The Ohio woman was allegedly stabbed by her best friend while sitting in her moving car, so she hit the gas before she died and ran over her assailant’s two children, killing one, police said.

The bizarre chain of events began with a discussion between Kimberly Black and Sharice Swain, both 29, as they sat in a car outside Black’s home in Cleveland. Police said it was unclear what started the argument between the two old friends.

According to police, Black got out, went to her house and returned with a knife, and then stabbed Swain several times in the face and neck.

Swain stepped on the gas, apparently trying to escape from her attacker, and instead hit two of Black’s children and a house.
Kimshia Ruffin, 2, was killed, while the 1-year-old Taraji Ruffin suffered injuries police described as not life threatening.

It was unclear whether Swain intentionally hit the children, however, a neighbor who came to help Swain believed she had a different target in mind.

Black took off her clothes and fled the scene on foot. She was arrested several blocks from the crime scene.

“It is very sad that life long friends suddenly kill each other. An argument is one thing, but there is no need for all these senseless killings. Unfortunately, one killer has already died and the little child will not see justice served against her killer,” Melissa Lewis, 38, of Cleveland, Ohio told YourJewishNews.com after learning about this terrible incident.

Black was charged with murder and is scheduled to appear in court Monday morning.

Little child dies after parents turn to prayer instead of seeking a doctor

Herbert and Catherine Schaible
By: John Roberts

A little child died after his parents turned to prayer instead of seeking medical attention from a doctor when the child became sick, according to police reports in Pennsylvania.

The Philadelphia parents, who are already serving a 10 year probation sentence for the death of their other child after they turned to prayer instead of a doctor, have violated their probation because another child has died.

Herbert and Catherine Schaible belong to a fundamentalist Christian church that believes in faith healing.
Philadelphia Judge Benjamin Lerner said at a hearing that the parents violated the most important condition of their probation, which is to seek medical care for their remaining children.

Authorities have not yet filed criminal charges in the death of the 8-month-old who died last week after suffering of diarrhea and respiratory problems. However, the charges could be filed once the authorities clearly establish how the baby died.

“I am completely shocked, both at the parents and at the authorities. Why were the remaining children left in their custody when the parents have shown a lack of concern for their kids? The government should immediately take away the remaining children and place them with relatives, before they all die,” Helen Jones, 37, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the death.

The couple is on probation after pleading guilty to manslaughter in 2011 after the death of their 2-year-old son, Kent, of pneumonia.

(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with terrorism related charges after he was caught with a fake Israeli passport in Nepal, according to press reports in China.

An Iranian, was allegedly caught with a fake Israeli passport, and is suspected of planning attacks on Israelis in Nepal, police officials said.

The Iranian citizen, who was identified as Mohsin Khosravian, is suspected of plotting attacks on the Israeli Embassy in Kathmandu and Israeli tourists.

Khosravian was arrested last week, by Israeli personnel at their embassy in Kathmandu. The Israelis were alerted to suspicious behavior and said that he had in his possession a false Israeli passport and a map, according to a Television news station. The suspect was handed over to the Nepalese authorities.

Nepal Police said Khosravian was arrested and is currently being investigated.
Authorities said that Khosravian, apparently used the false Israeli passport to enter the country in the beginning of the month, and hid his Iranian passport in his luggage. Authorities said that the man has acquired the false Israeli passport in Kuala Lumpur.

“Thanks to the Israeli authorities in Nepal, another terrorist attack has been prevented, this time in Nepal. In this case, it seems like Khosravian, was looking to initiate a copycat attack like the one that occurred last year in Burgas, Bulgaria, where several Israeli tourists and their bus driver were killed,” Gary Alexander, 58, of San Diego, California told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the latest arrest.

Reports have also indicated that Khosravian has lived in Bangkok, Thailand since 2004.

Israel says Syria has launched nerve gas attacks

(Scroll down for video) The civil war in Syria has escalated recently, with the use of nerve gas, according to Israeli military officials.

Syrian government forces have used chemical weapons, probably nerve gas, in its fight against rebels who are trying to force out President Bashar al-Assad, the top intelligence analyst of the Israeli army said on Tuesday.

Brigadier General Itai Brun was speaking at a security conference in Tel Aviv, a day after the U.S. Defense Secretary, Chuck Hagel, began a visit to Israel.

U.S. President Barack Obama has previously warned that the use of chemical weapons, would be a "red line" for the U.S., which would lead to U.S. action.

"To the best of our knowledge, there was use of lethal chemical weapons, probably sarin gas," Brun said.
Photos of victims with foam coming out of their mouths were signs that lethal gas had been used, he said.
Forces loyal to Assad were behind the attacks on armed rebels on several occasions in recent months," Brun said.

“It is a dangerous situation over there in Syria. I hope that the U.S. stays true to its stated red line, to take action if Assad uses chemical weapons. So far, it does not seem that way,” Samuel Kenig, 48, of Los Angeles, California told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the latest chemical attack.

Last month, the Syrian government and the rebels accused each other of launching a chemical attack, near the northern city of Aleppo.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

A 79-year-old woman was charged after she crashed into a Target store.

Norma Joan Brennan, was on track to get her driver's license restored Thursday, when she crashed through the front doors of a Target store in Ocala, Florida.

Reverend Kevin Holsapple, owner of the car told police he was giving Brennan driving tips in the Target parking lot when the woman accidently pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake, according local press reports.

Brennan had a driver's license for 50 years before it was suspended due to a medical condition. On Thursday, Brennan and Holsapple planned to go to the Department of Motor Vehicle so she could get her driver’s licence back.

“It is not easy to be without your own car, and having to depend on other people to drive you around. It must be especially hard for someone who had a car for 50 years,” Teniqua Williams, 40, of Miami, Florida told YourJewishNews.com after hearing about the car crash at the Target store.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the incident. Brennan received a citation for driving with a suspended license, and the pastor was cited for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive his vehicle.

Man leaves house water running all winter creating spectacular waterfall

waterfall was seen on the side of a building
By: David Ross

(Scroll down for video) An empty apartment building became the sight of a spectacular waterfall after a man left his house water running all winter.

This amazing frozen waterfall was seen on the side of a building in Jilin City, East China. This is the work of 58-year-old Wen Hsu, the only remaining resident, of an empty building.

Hsu left the tap running throughout the winter to ensure that the pipes don't freeze. The strange sight looks like a work of original art, but actually was born of fear, as Hsu was afraid that his pipes would freeze and burst which would cause him to run out of water.

“It is indeed a beautiful sight, but I wonder how many gallons of water was wasted in the process,” Miao Tian, 24, of China Town, New York City told YourJewshNews.com after seeing the photo of the homemade waterfall.

As in many other cities around China, this property was scheduled for demolition, to make way for a new shopping center. The developers paid for all others tenants to relocate, but Hsu rejected the offer because he felt it was not enough money to get a decent place. After all the neighbors moved, he remained the only person in the building.

In the winter, the low temperatures threatened to freeze the water in the pipes which would leave him with no running water and no choice but to leave. But Hsu, would not give up easily, so he came up with the plan of leaving his water running, directing the water out of his apartment creating a beautiful waterfall.

Elderly man arrested after taking too many free food samples from supermarket

By: Moses Gold

(Scroll down for video) An elderly man is suing after he was arrested for taking too many free meat samples from a supermarket.
Erwin Lingitz, 68, of Gem Lake, Minnesota, went to the Cub Foods near his home to pick up a prescription.

While at the store, Lingitz took free meat samples and headed out the door. The security guard thought that man had shoplifted and ordered the man to empty his pocket, but the elderly man refused.

The guard called police. Lingitz was found in possession of one and a half pounds of free meat samples, which included a dozen soy sauce packets, over half a pound of summer sausage, and almost a pound of beef stick, according to the supermarket spokesperson.

Lingitz was allegedly jumped, kicked and beaten by three officers of Ramsey County and by the Cub Foods security guard after he tried to leave the grocery store with the free samples of food.
“There are laws in place to protect elderly people from abuse. If this man was roughed up as he claims, then the people involved should be charged with elder abuse on a man older than 65, just as they would charge a citizen who abuses an elderly man,” Patricia Davis, 46, of Saint Paul, Minnesota told yourJewishNews.com.

Now, Lingitz is suing over the incident.

The suit names 9 defendants: Ramsey County, the county Sheriff's Office, three deputies, the guard, the guard's employer, Twin City Lawmen Inc., and Supervalu Inc., which owns Cub Foods.

Lingitz is seeking a minimum of $375,000 in damages for violating his civil rights, use of excessive force, negligence and denial of medical care.

Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg
By: Shifra Unger

(Scroll down for video) The wealth of all world Jewish billionaires combined is approaching the magical $1 trillion mark, according to new estimates released recently.

A new list released in Israel, has identified the world's richest Jews. 165 of those Jews also appear on the list of billionaires released in 2013. Their combined wealth totals moved above $800 billion for the first time.

CEO of the technology company Oracle, Larry Ellison, topped the list with a net worth of $43 billion. He is also the third richest man in the United States. Oracle is third only to Microsoft and IBM in global software sales.

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg is second on the list. Bloomberg, who is said to be worth $27 billion, owns the prestigious financial Bloomberg media empire, which represents one third of the entire global financial data market. Next on the list is the casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, with $26.5 billion. Adelson is also known for his strong support of the U.S. Republican Party.

Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin are also among the top 10, both with a net worth of over $22 billion. Page and Brin are credited with creating one of the most innovative technology companies in the world, including YouTube and Gmail.

Another successful Jewish technology guru is the founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, who sits in 16th place on the list of wealthy Jews. While his wealth has been reduced to $13.3 billion, Facebook is still the market leader in the social media.

“While I am happy to see the success of Jews worldwide, some people who harbor anti-Semitic views will jump on this with all types of ridiculous conspiracy theories, which fans the flames of hate. The press should also point out how much these Jewish billionaires donate to charity and good causes around the world, each year,” Joshua Watkins, 57, of Los Angeles, California told YourJewishNews.com after seeing the list.Mobile video not loading? Muslims throw stones at school bus carrying Jewish children

Window smashed by rock attack
By: Shifra Unger

A school bus transporting Jewish children came under a heavy rock attack on a road in the Israeli controlled West Bank, according to press reports in Israel.

Several Muslim terrorists ambushed the bus and began throwing rocks at the bus carrying children to school Tuesday morning. Luckily, no one was injured by the attack.

The attack took place on Nahal Kana Road, between the settlements of Revava and Yakir.

The head of the Samaria Regional Authority, Gershon Mesika, reacted furiously to the attack and demanded that the prime minister and defense minister act to stop what he termed as the "terror of rocks."

Local residents are furious that the government is not doing enough to apprehend and punish those behind the rock throwing.
“The government should move in and arrest those animals behind the rock throwing. Too many innocent women and children are hurt from these attacks. One rock attack even killed a father and his son driving along the road. I am furious,” Nathaniel Freeman, 48, of the West Bank told YourJewishNews.com after lesrningabout the latest rock attack.

The attack occurred on the same road where a similar rock attack took place several weeks ago, in which a baby was seriously injured. As we reported earlier, five Palestinian teenagers were arrested after they admitted to throwing rocks, which seriously injured an Israeli baby and seven other Israelis.

Last week, five teenagers who live in Kfar Haras in the West Bank, threw stones at passing vehicles near the Israeli settlement of Ariel, in the West Bank.

A truck driver who was hit by the stones and was forced to pull over on the side hit a car that followed close by who was also struck by the rocks. The car’s driver lost control of her vehicle and crashed, injuring seven Israelis, including a baby named Adele Biton, who is still in the hospital after suffering a serious injury.

The five people involved in the attack, are between 16 and 17-years-old. During interrogation by the Shin Bet, the teenagers admitted to their involvement in the attack, according to the Shin Bet.

Hundreds of special needs children celebrate bar, bat mitzvahs at the Western Wall

Bar mitzvah of a special needs child at the Western Wall
By: David Ross

Hundreds of sick children got the chance to celebrate their bar and bat mitzvahs at the Western Wall the same way ordinary children experience the festive day, according to press reports in Israel.
Two hundred children with mental disabilities gathered at the Western Wall in Jerusalem on Sunday to celebrate their bar and bat mitzvahs.

This is the 11th time the mass bar and bat mitzvah ceremony has taken place.
The children, who came to the Western Wall, along with their families, were well received by dozens of volunteers from yeshivot and religious girls' schools, led by singing and dancing. Volunteers helped the children put on their tefillin and prayer shawls throughout the ceremony.

“It is wonderful to see all these sick children, extremely happy. They suffered all their lives because of their mental disabilities, and it warms the heart to see how they are able to have some joy by putting on their tefillin for the first time at the Western Wall, which is the holiest place in Judaism,” Joe Baker, 47, of Jerusalem, Israel told YourJewishNews.com after watching the happy children at the Western Wall.

Religious Services Minister Deputy Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan attended the event, and said: "This is a wonderful thing. All organizations involved to make this event will surely be blessed by God for their holy work."

Swastika and anti-Semitic graffiti sprayed on Boston church

Swastika graffiti illustration
By: David Ross

A swastika and other anti-Semitic graffiti were found spray painted on a Boston, Massachusetts area church, according to police reports in Boston, Massachusetts.

Police in the Boston suburb of Sharon, are investigating the swastika that was found painted on the Victory Assembly of God church, last week.

Police suspect that the graffiti can be linked with the celebration of Jerusalem Day that the church is scheduled to mark next month. Banners and posters announcing the event, celebrating the reunification of Jerusalem by Israeli troops during the 1967 Six Day War, were also vandalized.

The Anti-Defamation League or ADL, condemned the incident.

"An attack on any place of worship is an assault on the entire community. As a community, we must be united in solidarity against all forms of hatred and intolerance. We are confident that the police will catch the perpetrators, and that those responsible will be arrested and prosecuted,” Robert Trestan, New England regional director of the ADL, said in a statement.

Trestan also said he found the graffiti particularly disturbing coming just after the recent attack on the Boston Marathon.
"To wake up and know that someone has gone after a church, you know, is very discouraging. This shows us that we really have a long way to go," he said.

“Unfortunately, these type of incidents will only increase as the police and the governments are just not doing enough to fight the flames of hate. This is probably happening because there are just too many problems plaguing the United States and there are just not enough resources available to fight anti-Semitism,” Paul Green, 50, of Boston, Massachusetts told YourJewishNews.com after leanring about the attack on the church.

A rabbi and his son were stabbed at a synagogue in France, according to police reports in Paris, France.

The French rabbi and his son were stabbed Tuesday morning at a Paris synagogue in the city by an Iranian national who escaped from a psychiatric hospital, while shouting Allah Akbar.

Quoting a member of the congregation who attended morning services during the attack, a French newspaper reported that the attacker entered the synagogue in Paris and wounded 50-year-old Rabbi Philippe Baroukh and his son in an attempted murder.

Baroukh and his son, 18, were stabbed in the neck, according to the French newspaper.
The attack took place in the Beth-El synagogue. The rabbi and his son were taken to a hospital in fair condition.

Witnesses said the attacker was a deranged man who had escaped from a local psychiatric center. The suspect, 28, was detained by witnesses at the scene until police arrived and was arrested.

“More needs to be done quickly to stop anti Jewish attacks by terrorists across Europe and particularly in France. Anti-Semitic incidents are spiraling out of control the last few years and the governments are not doing much to fight the flames of hate,” Kenneth Ross, 37, of Paris, France told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the latest attack.

France has a Jewish population of about 500,000, according to the European Jewish Congress, among millions of Muslims.

Police suspect Boston terrorist might have killed two Jews on 9/11 anniversary

Raphael Tekken and Eric Weissman
By: Ryan Lee Hall

(Scroll down for video) Police now suspect that the elder Boston terrorist might have killed two Jews on the 9/11 anniversary, according to press reports in the United States.

Investigators in the suburbs of Boston said that Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the older Boston Marathon attacker, who was killed in a shootout with police, may have been involved in a gruesome unsolved triple homicide of a former roommate and two others.

The killings took place on September 11, 2011 the tenth anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attack of 2001.

"We are studying a possible connection between the suspect in the marathon bombing and an active open homicide investigation in Waltham,'' Stephanie Guyotte, a spokesperson for the district attorney of Middlesex County, said.

The murder victims were found in an apartment in Waltham, Massachusetts. Their throats had been slashed.
Tsarnaev had been close to one of the victims, 25-year-old Brendan Mess, investigators said. The two had been training together at a local gym. It was unclear whether Tsarnaev knew the other victims who were killed, who were identified by police as Raphael Tekken, 37, and Eric Weissman, 31, both Jewish.

“It turns out these these two terrorists were dangerous men for quite some time. It is regretful that police did not do more to investigate these two and bring them to justice earlier, before unleashing their terror in Boston,” Barbara Wilson, 46, of Boston, Massachusetts told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the murder investigation.Mobile video not loading? Some online retailers are using ebay to turn a profit off the tragedy. Many are offering t-shirts with the phrases "Pray for Boston", "Prayers for Boston", "Boston Strong", "Remember" and "Never Forget" printed on them, like the messages you see in 9.11 memorabilia.

“People have also tried to profit of tragedy. That is the way it has always been and the Boston bombing terror attacks is no different. I hope that ebay will take action and remove those items that exploit human tragedy,” Linda Patterson, 36, of Long Island, New York told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the items for sale.

Ebay said in a statement: "We are deeply saddened by the tragedy in Boston and our thoughts and prayers are with those affected. Out of respect for the victims, ebay does not allow sales that graphically portray, glorify or attempt to take advantage of human tragedy and suffering.

Ebay teams are monitoring related items for compliance with our policies and taking into account the reports of the members of our community. When an advertisement is brought to our attention that can go against our rules, we carefully consider the context and all the details, and the decision to remove the items are made on a case by case basis. Anyone can report an item to ebay for review.”

Young boy diagnosed with being addicted to vacuum cleaners

Lane Fountain shows off his vacuum cleaner collection

(Scroll down for video) People are known to have weird obsessions, but one little boy is addicted to a particular vacuum cleaner, according to press reports in the United Kingdom.

The child was diagnosed with a rare condition that has led to an obsession with vacuum cleaners.

Lane Fountain, 9, is particularly fond of Henry Hoover products.

His fascination is due to a rare genetic disorder called Williams syndrome, with patients having an unusually cheerful demeanor and ease with strangers.

His father, Mark, told a U.K. based newspaper: "People with the condition also tend to obsess over things, and in the case of Fountain, it is Hoovers. He was obsessed with the product from an early age."

His interest in Hoovers began when he was watching his mother clean the living room one day, and since then has amassed a collection of 17 cleaning products. He uses the vacuum cleaners as often as possible, his father told the newspaper.

His father continued: "We treat him with a visit to a store as a reward for being good and it's like seeing an old man looking at a classic car. He studies every detail of the vacuum and knows all the different models, brands and product numbers. His room is full of vacuum cleaners and he has more in the garden. I think there's more to come, as his obsession has now gravitated towards carpet washers."

“At least it is an obsession his mother can put to good use, as the family home remains clean all the time. If we can choose our obessions I think this one might not be too bad of an obsession after all,” Connie Baily, 36, of Norman, Oklahoma told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the child’s obsession with vacuum cleaners.

Fountain said about himself: "I love cleaning and I do it every day. I love most vacuum cleaners and carpet cleaning products, especially Hoovers.”Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

(Scroll down for video) The wife of a Navy military official said she was forced into wife swapping parties with other Navy officers, according to press reports in the United Kingdom.

The woman claimed that her husband, an Indian Navy lieutenant, forced her to attend the wife swapping parties of senior officers at their base in Cochin.

Up to eight naval officers and their wives have been charged and are now under police investigation.
According to the woman, her husband had taken her to a number of naval social functions at which she had been forced to have sex with other partners. She claimed that some of the officers and their wives also had put pressure on her to stop her from filing a police complaint.

The Indian Navy has denied her claims but the investigation is the latest in a series of scandals to embarrass military officials.
The lieutenant's wife complained to the police and the Chief of the Navy, that her husband and senior officers had sexually abused her. She said the pressure to have sex with other officers started after her husband and his family began harassing her to pay more money as dowry.

“India is suffering from numerous sex abuse scandals partly because of its poor record on fighting for women’s rights. The police in India have recently increased its crackdown on sexual predators and we can now just hope that it will help reduce sex crimes against women,” Florence Ward, 56, a women’s rights activist in Delhi, India told YourJewishNews.com after the latest Indian sex scandal.Mobile video not loading? Swimmer manages to fight off crocodile after it latched on to his head

Yoann Galeran shows his wounds

(Scroll down for video) A swimmer is lucky to be alive after a hungry crocodile clamped down on his head ready for a good meal, according to press reports in the United Kingdom.

The French sailor who was swimming in the remote waters of Australia was able to fend off the attack by the crocodile.
Yoann Galeran, 29, was dragged under the water by the crocodile, but said he hit the crocodile hard and managed to escape with just a few holes in the head.

"I feel I have been lucky, and I just think that if the crocodile was bigger I might not have a head now," he said.
Galeran was swimming at night near his boat, about 50 feet from the shore in remote Arnhem Land, in the Northern Territory when the saltwater crocodile began to attack. He said it was dark, there was no moon, and he had no warning of the impending attack.

"I was swimming maybe four or five meters from my boat when I felt like stones were hitting me, knocking me on my head, and I notice a crocodile," he told an Australian television news station.

"I just had the feeling that if I want to live I just have to keep moving my body as much as possible. It hit me on the top, on the left and on the upper neck. The crocodile then tried to push me down in the water. I punched it everywhere," he told the television news station.

Galeran, an Australian resident born in Avignon, said his head was in the crocodile's mouth for less than a second. He received two puncture wounds in the back of his neck and another three or four holes in the sides of his head.

Galeran, who works for a fishery, had spent Sunday night at the local yacht club and decided to swim near the boat. Galeran was treated at a nearby hospital and was released.
Locals said the crocodile had been lurking in the area in recent weeks.

“This man is lucky to be alive. Another person however, might not get so lucky. People should learn from this not to swim in crocodile infested waters especially at night when it is imposible to see what is going on,” Pamela Adams, 36, of Brisbane, Australia told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the crocodile attack.

Galeran’s boss at the fishery, Lisa Heathcote, said the attack left Galeran bloody and smiling.
"We walked out on the back deck and Galeran was standing there with a big smile on his face and blood coming out of him," she said. "It is fortunate that he is fit, strong and was able to fight the crocodile. A smaller person or child would have died,” Heathcote added.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
