|Funeral where dead man woke up|
(Scroll down for video) A man woke up just in time before being buried alive at his own funeral, according to a statement released by hospital officials in Zimbabwe.
Mourners ran in panic when the dead man came back to life at his own funeral.
Friends and family who were at the funeral jumped out of their skins and ran for their lives when Brighton Dama Zanthe, 34, began shaking in his coffin Monday.
Those attending the funeral initially thought that their friend, who they believed was dead after a long illness, had come back from the afterlife to haunt them.
Lot Gaka, an official at the Zimbabwe Workers Transportation Council, somehow managed to stay calm. He leaped into action to save his friend.
Gaka quickly pulled the blankets of Zanthe’s body and called an ambulance.
Zanthe was rushed to a nearby hospital in the Gweru Provincial, where he spent two days in intensive care before being discharged last week.
“This is really freaky. I can’t imagine being at a funeral where the dead suddenly wakes up. If I ever saw this at a funeral I would be scared from attending a funeral ever again,” Susan Davis, 32, of Orlando, Florida told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the dead man who woke up at his funeral.
"I do not know what happened, and I just remember being on a life support system in the hospital," Zanthe said.
He added: "All is history for me what I can only confirm is that the people gathered at my house to mourn, but they gave me another chance, I'm alive and I feel good now."Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
