A woman called police to reports that her taxi driver “looks very Muslim”, and that she was afraid, according to police reports in Virginia.

A Muslim civil rights group is now seeking criminal charges on behalf of a taxi driver who was subjected to an anti-Islamic diatribe, which was caught on video.

The woman of Ashburn, Virginia, launched a series of expletives and called police to report that she feared for her life because she said her driver, Abdikar Aden of Alexandria, was "very Muslim."

Aden reported that the woman also hit him several times on his back.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, which represents Aden, asked the Fairfax County Commonwealth Attorney on Tuesday to treat the case as a hate crime.

The woman was identified in a police report as Jennifer Crabbe.
In a police report, Crabbe and her partner, denied hitting Aden. The police report said that Aden was paid the $50 fee after he stopped, and another taxi was called to take Crabbe and his partner the rest of the way.

During the journey, Aden said, she assumed he was a Muslim and said that all Muslims come to the U.S. to work as taxi drivers for a year to save money so they can blow themselves up.

Last month, CAIR intervened on behalf of another Muslim taxi driver who also recorded an obscenity-laced rant motivated by suspicion of a passenger about Islam. In that case, the passenger allegedly broke the jaw of the driver and has been charged with assault.

Sunbathers ignore dead bodies on the beach

Ignoring dead body at beach
By: Moses Gold

(Scroll down for video) In a bizarre case of carelessness, beachgoers at one Italian beach ignored several dead bodies and continued on with their business as usual, according to police reports in Italy.

Police said that the sunny skies, the sound of the waves on the shore and corpses, was just another day at the beach for some people in Italy.
Two foreigners died Monday on the Italian beach, but beachgoers appeared unfazed by the sight of the corpses, which were covered with sheets before being taken away by emergency services.

In the tourist region of Formia, in the outskirts of Naples, 78-year-old Valentina Rausman of Russia, died in the water after a suspected heart attack. Bathers were seen playing with balls and reading newspapers just a few feet from her body.
In Calabria, Abdur Abdurhaman, 19, of Morocco, drowned in the sea. A group of teenagers were seen playing soccer in the background.

“The people who behaved like that, going on with their business despite seeing dead bodies, should be ashamed of themselves," Sandro Bartolomeo, who is the mayor of the region of Formia said.

This is not the first time that beachgoers in Italy ignored dead bodies.
Italian beachgoers were seen eating lunch just a few feet away of two dead girls.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Last remaining Jewish synagogue in Java Indonesia illegally demolished

The synagogue in Java Indonesia
By: John Roberts

Jews are angry after the last synagogue in the Indonesian city of Java was illegally demolished.
The last symbol of the oldest Jewish community in Indonesia is now just a pile of rubble.

Temple Beth Shalom in Surabaya, Java’s one and only synagogue, was demolished after being shut down by Islamic hardliners in 2009.

"It is unclear when exactly it was demolished and who did it," Freddy Istanto, the director of the Surabaya Heritage Society said.

"Last month, I was informed by a member of the Surabaya Heritage Society that the synagogue was destroyed. In disbelief, I went there and I saw that the synagogue had been turned into a pile of rubble,” Istanto said.

Freddy filed a complaint with the Legislative Council in Surabaya, which prompted the commission to summon the Surabaya Tourism Agency. The Surabaya Tourism Agency was responsible for the safeguarding of the synagogue as a heritage site.

"It was designated by the agency as a World Heritage site on April 16, 2009. It should have been protected," Freddy said.
"There were many artifacts inside the building, which can not be found in other heritage sites," Freddy said.

Sachiroel Alim, one of the leaders of the Legislative Council in Surabaya, said Saturday that the council summoned the Surabaya Tourism Agency and gave them seven days to officially report the case to the police as the demolition was in direct violation of the Cultural Heritage Act.

In January 2009, Muslim protesters sealed off Beth Shalom and burned an Israeli flag in order to protest the attacks on the Gaza Strip at the time.

The last surviving synagogue in Indonesia is in Manado, Sulawesi.

The Bible now the best selling book in Norway

The Bible
By: David Ross

In what some say is surprising, the Bible became the best-selling book in Norway, despite the fact that Norway is a secular country.

Norway is one of the most secular nations in Europe, and is increasingly atheist, so the runaway popularity of the Bible has caught the country by surprise. The Bible, translated in a new version in Norwegian, even surpassed "Fifty Shades of Grey" to become the bestseller in Norway.

Officials of the Lutheran Church of Norway recently asked for a spiritual awakening, but after seeing the new interest in the Bible, the Church said that this is proof that religion still resonates in a country where only 1 percent of the five million people regularly attend church.

Anne Veiteberg, who is the editorial director of the Bible Society of Norway, said the increase in immigration was probably a factor.

More than 258,000 immigrants have settled in the country during the last six years alone, adding diversity of race and religion. The Church of Norway estimated that about 60 percent of immigrants are Christians, while the rest are Muslims, Buddhists or Hindus.

"Now that we are exposed to other religions, the Norwegians have become more interested in their own faith," Veiteberg said.

Moshe Birnbaum, who lives in the neighborhood and was at the scene, said: "There were hundreds of people, men, women and children, dancing in the street. Suddenly, I heard a car honking followed by screaming. I turned around, and I saw a car driven by a young man slam into the crowd. Everyone started fleeing in fear. Several participants tried to stop the man, but he almost ran them over.” “You Jews will not take over our neighborhood," the man yelled. The suspect fled from the scene.

It took a little while until police arrived since the surrounding area was closed due to the event.
Police collected evidence and began searching for the suspect. Later, police arrested the suspect, who confessed, and claimed that the Jews are taking over the neighborhood.

Israel arrests 3 Palestine police officers after killing Jewish worshipper Ben-Yosef Livnat

Ben-Yosef Livnat
By: Eva Fett

Three Palestinian Authority police officers were arrested and charged with murder related charges after they admitted to killing a Jewish worshipper near Yosef’s tomb in the Palestinian controlled city of Nablus, according to a statement released by Israeli officials.

The suspects under arrest have been identified as Nawaf Fahd Bani Ouda, 24, Wael Hassin Mahmoud Daoud, 24, and Tarki Diyad Tarki Zuaraa, 23. Ouda and Daoud served as armed soldiers in the Palestinian Authority, while Zuaraa served as unarmed military driver.
Two other Palestinian men believed to have participated in the attack have not been arrested.

Apparently, the suspects have admitted that they were aware that their lives were not in danger when they opened fire on the car in which Ben-Yosef Livnat, 24, and several other Israeli men were traveling.

As we reported earlier, several Palestinian men were arrested after a Knesset Member’s nephew was murdered at Joseph’s Tomb, according to a statement released by Israeli military officials.

Palestinian sources reported that one night this week, the IDF arrested three members of the Palestinian security forces in the Nablus area. The three men were involved in a shooting in 2011 in which Ben-Yosef Livnat, the nephew of Culture and Sports Minister Limor Livnat, was killed.

After the incident, which took place at the Tomb of Joseph, a Palestinian court sentenced the three to one year in prison and were recently released.

The Ministry of Defense announced that Ben Yosef was a terror victim a month after his death. The decision was taken after the announcement of the army that the officers who shot him were not in immediate danger.

According to the initial investigation of the military, 19 Jewish worshipers arrived at Joseph's Tomb in three vehicles, ignored the Palestinian police order to stop at a roadblock. The Palestinian police opened fire on them.

“The Palestinian leadership should be punished. Why did they release killers after serving just one year in prison? This is outrageous. I am glad that the three terrorists were arrested and hopefully, they will be jailed in Israel for a long time,” Shiral Gingham, 50, of Jerusalem, Israel told YourJewishNews.com after being asked to comment on the arrests of Livnat’s killers.

Sports and Culture Minister Limor Livnat, who is Ben-Yosef's aunt, praised the victim saying: "The son of my brother was killed by terrorists masked as Palestinian police officers for no reason other than his desire to pray. He was innocent."

The man, a 98-year-old former police officer, has been charged today by the prosecution for abusing thousands of Hungarian Jews and for sending them to Nazi death camps during the Second World War.

Prosecutors said that Laszlo Csatary was the head of an internment camp for Jews in a brick factory in Kosice, a Slovak city then part of Hungary, in May 1944.

He is accused of having supervised the deportation of 15,700 Jews held in concentration camps.
The man is also accused of hitting Jews with his bare hands and with a dog leash. The man was also charged with torture after he refused to allow ventilation holes to be cut in the walls of a rail car packed with 80 Jews.

Csatary was charged after voluntary assisting in the illegal execution and torture of Jews deported from Kosice to concentration camps in German-occupied territories, prosecutors said in a statement.

Csatary, who has denied the charges, was first arrested by Hungarian authorities in July 2012 after his case was made public by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a Jewish organization active in hunting down Nazis who have not yet been brought to justice.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

Shaun Paul Williams, 34, was about to take a girl out for a nice dinner when he was jumped by the woman’s friends.

Williams, told deputies in Flagler County, Florida, that he was beaten, robbed, forced to strip naked and then abandoned on the side of the road during his first date with the woman. Police found Williams walking along the side of a road naked and bleeding on Friday night. According to the police report, Williams met a woman who goes by name “Tree,” and they decided to go out on a date.

Snake caught on video opening door in woman’s house

Snake opens a door
By: John Roberts

(Scroll down for video) Many women will admit that they freak out when they see a snake, even if it is just a small snake.

Snakes can be fascinating, the way the move, the way they eat, and their colors are very pretty. Most people like to see them when they are in a zoo behind a glass protector.

It seems like there are some people, who are not afraid of snakes, on the contrary they love snakes so much that they bring the snake into their home as their pet.

One woman, who has a pet snake, uploaded a video showing that her snake can open her door. The snake named Julius, lives in Germany with its owner, a Vimeo user named Jenner. The video caption said that this video was taken at 1:00 am, when Julius got bored of being in a dark room.

He let himself out of the room by opening the door. It seems a bit scary that such a huge snake can open a door by itself. I would warn the neighbors to watch out as they may have a midnight guest when the snake gets bored. Mobile video not loading? Click here to view

The man found himself locked out of his apartment, and he came up with what he thought was a brilliant idea to get into his house.

Tom Stilwell, 20, knocked at his neighbor’s house and asked if he can jump off her balcony to get into his house. The neighbor allowed the man to jump. Stilwell jumped off the balcony, but missed, and he fell from the 15th floor of his apartment building in Auckland, New Zealand.

He was rushed to the hospital. He was initially listed in critical condition, but his condition has since been upgraded to stable. Wendy's customer berates employee

(Scroll down for video) A man was caught on video going crazy at a Wendy’s after an employee mistakenly added cheese to his burger.

The Wendy’s customer is the latest to jump on the trend to reprimand an employee for a human mistake.

In this case, the man went crazy, screaming at a Wendy’s employee for accidentally adding cheese to his hamburger. In the video of the incident, the customer is heard yelling: "I want my money back, and I want it fast."

The customer screams at the employee saying that this same mistake happened in the past three times when he ordered at this Wendy’s location. The man goes on to rant about the employee putting cheese in his hamburger while there's no bacon in it, as he asked for.

“Please be competent once in your life, take an order and fill it,” the man is heard yelling at the employee. The Wendy’s employee eventually gives the man back his money, then slammed the drive thru windows shut as the man walks off still ranting to himself.

Wendy’s spokesperson Denny Lynch called the event "an unfortunate situation. We emphasize quality food and order accuracy in all restaurants. When we make a mistake, we try to fix it as quickly as possible. It appears the employee apologized for the mistake and refunded the customer's money."

The video, is the latest to surface of a customer ripping an employee of the food chain. A woman recently verbally attacked an employee at Dunkin’ Donuts because she did not receive a receipt with her order. Many people thought that it was a publicity stunt by the woman. She did become famous, but not in a good way. People were very angry about the way she treated the employee.

While being yelled at, that employee was seen patiently answering the woman and going out of her way to make the customer happy. The donut chain announced that it plans to officially recognize the employee.

Woman has abortion in order to have weight-loss surgery

Sophie Smith before and after surgery
By: John Roberts

An obese woman made a decision to have an abortion in order to have her weight loss surgery.

The morbidly obese woman had waited three months for an appointment for weight loss surgery when she discovered she was pregnant.

Sophie Smith, 20, of London, was at a loss when she found out she was pregnant with her second child. The doctor advised her that she could not have her long-awaited surgery until after the baby was born. Smith had a difficult decision to make, cancel the surgery and wait until after her baby was born, then, reassess if she was a candidate for the surgery, or abort her baby.

Eventually, she made up her mind, instead of canceling her long-awaited gastric bypass operation, she made the heartbreaking decision to terminate her pregnancy. Smith, who weighed 350 pounds, insists that she made the right decision because she feared that if she did not have the surgery she might not be around to raise her child.

Smith is a full-time mom to her 18-month-old son, Nathan. Smith said: "As I had the abortion, tears were streaming down my cheeks as I was killing my child in order to be thinner, but I felt I had no choice. If I had carried on the way I was, I might not be around to see Nathan grow up."

The pregnancy was not planned and the baby’s father had since left the family. Since the father was no longer part of her life, she decided to go forward with the abortion. Smith has always struggled with her weight. At the age of 11, she was already a size 20. In college, she left a childcare course blaming her size.

At age 17, she became pregnant, but miscarried at ten weeks. Six months later, she was pregnant again. Her boyfriend did not want the child, but she wanted to keep the baby, so they split up. Being pregnant with Nathan left her 84 pounds heavier. While waiting for surgery, she discovered she was ten weeks pregnant, despite having a contraceptive implant.

The surgeon told Smith that if the operation was canceled she would have to start the process over again after the birth of her baby. "It could be years before I have another chance for surgery. Over time, I made my decision. I could have a baby later when I am in a stable relationship,” she said. So she had the abortion and she went ahead with the gastric bypass surgery.

"Now, I have a son, and I will be here to see him grow up. To me that is worth any sacrifice," she added.

Doctor stoned after examining female patient in Afghanistan

Doctor examination room illustration
By: John Roberts

A doctor was stoned because of the sin of examining a female patient who came to him for treatment, according to police reports in Afghanistan.

The doctor was thrown from a balcony and stoned by an angry mob in Afghanistan for treating a patient in an office without supervision.

It is unclear whether Dr. Ajmeer Hashimi was killed or seriously wounded and it was also unclear where he has been taken for medical care, Afghan officials said.

The female patient is in good condition at a women's shelter, according to police.
The assault occurred in Sar-i-Pul, a city controlled by the government in northern Afghanistan. There are conflicting reports about the incident, but the provincial police chief, Abdul Raouf Taj, said that villagers stormed the private clinic when they heard that the doctor was treating the woman, a midwife called Mahboba, alone in his room.

The police arrived to escort the physician and the patient out of the office, but while the woman was protected from serious attacks, Hashimi was thrown from a second floor balcony into the crowd below and stoned, Nabila Rahimi, who is an official in the village, said.

In many parts of Afghanistan, women are usually not allowed to be examined by male doctors unless a close male family member is present. Stoning is the punishment for adultery under Sharia law.
Taj said there was no indication that the doctor-victim relationship was anything other than professional.

"It's always difficult for women who work to keep in touch with their male colleagues, because most Afghans see them as sexual relations, and it's all due to ancient traditions and a low-level of education," Taj said.
Eventually, Hashimi was rescued and taken to the General Hospital of Balkh in Mazar-i-Sharif.

Both victims have spouses and Mahboba is the mother of two young children.
