Twitter agrees to reveal identities of those posting anti-Jewish comments

By: Sarah Weiss

In a reversal of policy, Twitter announced that it will hand over identities of those posting anti-Jewish comments on their social media website.

After a long legal battle, the company said that it will cooperate with the authorities in France, who want to bring anti-Jewish suspects to justice.

The agreement is a blow to the millions of people using social media to express hate and anger without revealing their identity.
The Paris prosecutor argued that Twitter has a duty to expose wrongdoers, despite its insistence that people have a right to anonymity.

Late last year, the Jewish student associations asked Twitter to remove a series of messages that appeared under the hashtag #unbonjuif, or #agoodjew, with some users posting examples like: #agoodjew is a dead Jew.
France has a strict set of laws designed to combat hate crimes.

The Union of Jewish Students of France, or UEJF, and three other similar groups took Twitter to court asking it to reveal the names of those responsible so they can be prosecuted.

“By not revealing their identities, Twitter is offering a platform for racism and anti-Semitism," Jonathan Hayoun, the President UEJF, said.

On Thursday, Twitter lost its legal battle in France permanently, when the Paris Court of Appeals rejected its appeal against a lower court ruling that ordered Twitter to hand over the identities.

Three men were arrested and charged with assault related charges after they assaulted a Jewish man in the Old City of Jerusalem, according to police reports in Israel.

Jerusalem Police said that three Arab men attacked an 18-year-old Jewish man in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem on Thursday night.

The Arab men threw the man to the floor and spat on him. The men fled from the scene. Later, police found the suspects and arrested them.

The Jewish man did not require medical attention. Police said they believe the attack was motivated by nationalism, and that the Arab men attacked the Jewish man simply because he is Jewish.

This was not the first time that Arab men beat a Jewish man. As we reported earlier, Jews continue to be physically attacked in France. Two Jews were attacked this week on their way to synagogue, according to a statement released by police in France.

The latest attack against the Jewish community occurred in the French city of Lyon, police said.
The two jewish men were attacked by three Muslim men, in an attack that was unprovoked, according to police.

The two Jews began screaming for help causing neighborhood residents to gather at the scene. The attackers fled the scene before police arrived.

Police arrived at the scene and launched a criminal investigation. Police discovered that the attack was captured on video by security cameras at a nearby store. The investigators expressed hope that the video would lead to the quick arrest of the suspects.

Now, the wife is demanding answers after a television show exposed the affair on a live program. The video below is a segment of a television program in China, which promotes traffic and driving safety. The host of the show, police officer Zhang, pulled over a car after he notice the driver was not wearing a seatbelt.

The woman in the passenger's seat did not wear her seatbelt as well. She told the officer that she has never used a seatbelt when riding in cars. Wearing a seatbelt is required by law. Officer Zhang told the driver that he had to give him a ticket for the violation and asked the man's driver's license.

The man realized that he left his ID at home in another bag. The man told the officer that he will call someone to bring him the driver’s license. After the call, the man was seen telling his female passenger to get out of the car and to leave, promising to call her later.

After 15 minutes, another woman appeared. It turns out that the other woman was his wife. The woman asked her husband why he changed plans by coming home early. He had told his wife earlier that he will be at a meeting. His wife expected him to come home late.

While the husband and wife stood next to each other, the officer told the driver that he will be fined 100 RMB for not wearing his own seat belt and another 5 RMB because his passenger did not wear a seat belt.

The wife then asked her husband who the passenger was. Her husband told her that it was a co-worker. She then asked if it was a man or a woman, and the husband lied and said it was a man. He told her that they can talk about it later.

As Zhang finished writing the ticket, the man asked that this incident should not be aired on TV. The officer ignored his request.

Martha Renee Kolleh
By: John Roberts

(Scroll down for video) A woman opened a cafe to support her family, but sadly, people walk out as soon as they see a black woman behind the counter.

The cafe owner became so frustrated over the alleged racism that she hung a sign on the door warning customers before they enter that she is black.

Martha Renee Kolleh, 46, said she is sick of people walking out of her cafe called “Yeanon Cafe” in Ossett, Yorkshire, United Kingdom, when they see the color of her skin.

She hung the sign on the front door, which reads: "Attention! Everyone be aware I am a black woman, and always will be. If you are allergic to black people please don't come in. However, if you prefer quality wholesome meals in a pleasant and clean environment, come in. I don't bite!"

Kolleh said that some people think it is funny and they support her, while others just read the sign and walk away.
Before Kolleh hung the sign on her door, she made sure that the reason people left her cafe was because she was black.
She hired a white woman to stand behind the counter to take orders, sure enough, business went well.

Figures for ethnicity from the 2001 Census show that 98.9 percent of the town's population were recorded as white.
Local Labor councilor Tony Richardson said he was "totally shocked" to see the sign. "I am absolutely sure that there is no such problem in Ossett," he said.

The single mother of three children has run the cafe for two years. Kolleh, who is originally from Liberia, Africa, has lived in Britain for the past 11 years with her daughter Pertetual, 16, and two sons, James-Earl, 18, and 12-year-old Israel.

“My family and I try to make our customers feel welcomed. I keep this place clean and serve good food. I cannot see any other reason for people to decide they do not want to eat here," Kolleh said.

New clap off bra makes it easier for women to undress

The clap off bra
By: Debbie Gross

Are you too tired to take off your bra before going to sleep? Now, you can just clap and your bra will just fall off.

At the end of a long and terrible day, all women can think of is throwing off their bras. Sometimes though, they are so tired that the ability to disengage the bra closure is challenging.

Well, for those of you who are unable to keep up, there's a bra for that, and you can do it yourself. The new bra, designed by Randy Sarafan, who said he was inspired by the high-tech bras he had heard about in Syria, falls of your chest when you clap your hands.

Perhaps this technology would come in handy if the user also has a light that goes off with a clap. However, this technology definitely would not make sense at a concert, event or any other environment prone to sporting rounds of applause. You wouldn’t want your bra to fall off in public.

Australian man jailed in Nebraska after robbing bank in order to give cash to the homeless

Corey Alan Donaldson
By: David Ross

A U.S. judge did not care that a man just wanted to help out the homeless, according to court proceedings in the United States.

An Australian man was arrested, charged and convicted with bank robbery related charges after he robbed a bank in Utah in order to give money to the homeless.

Now, the Utah man will serve 70 months, or a little less than six years, in prison after a federal judge sentenced the man for robbing a bank in Jackson.

Corey Alan Donaldson, 40, probably will be deported to his native Australia after he completes his prison sentences.
If for some reason Donaldson won’t be deported, U.S. District Judge Alan Johnson ordered him to spend three years of supervised probation in the United States.

Donaldson also must pay the full $140,750 he was convicted of stealing from U.S. Bank, last year.
The only time self-help author, who claims that he had stolen the money with the intention of giving it to the homeless and refers to himself as a "modern-day Robin Hood," spoke to the judge for almost an hour during sentencing.

His long address was a stark contrast to his trial more than two months ago. Although Donaldson defended himself, it took him just a half an hour to present his side of the story to the jury. Johnson prohibited him from using a "Robin Hood" defense at trial.

The jury found Donaldson guilty of federal bank robbery.
He has been in federal custody at the Scott's Bluff Detention Center in Scott's Bluff Nebraska, ever since.
Federal law allows a maximum of 20 years in prison if a person is convicted of bank robbery.

After a series of pre-sentence reports, prosecutors recommended Donaldson spend between 63 and 70 months in prison, John Powell, a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney's office, said.

Donaldson told the bank manager that the building was loaded with "military grade explosives", which he would detonate, if he would not be given $2 million.

Police swept the building and found no explosives, either inside or outside the bank, but not before Donaldson left with $140,000 in cash.

Donaldson said that he gave $55,000 to $65,000 to the homeless in Reno, Nevada. There is evidence that he is telling the truth on about $15,000 of that money, public defender Jim Barrett, who advised Donaldson during his trial, said.
Authorities found about $40,000 on Donaldson in his hotel room at the time of his arrest, FBI agents testified at trial.

Ohio man arrested after ‘doing it’ with inflatable raft in front of girl, 10

Edwin Charles Tobergta III
By: Debbie Gross

(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with public indecency related charges after he was seen rubbing up against an inflatable raft in public, according to police reports in Ohio.

Ohio Police said that neighbors of the man arrested for public indecency repeatedly said they are alarmed by his behavior and hope he gets mental help.

Edwin Charles Tobergta III, 34, of Harmon Avenue, was arrested for allegedly strolling out naked from his back door about 1:20 pm and having sex with a rubber pool, according to a Hamilton police report.

Tobergta was indicted by a Butler County grand jury Wednesday for public indecency, a 5th degree felony. If convicted, he faces 12 months behind bars.

The 10 year-old daughter of Theresa Teague was enjoying her new pool, when she ran inside her house and said: "Tobergta was doing something weird out there," Teague said.

Tobergta was caught having sex with an inflatable toy Teague said a neighbor had thrown out to the trash.
“He was screaming, ‘Please forgive me. I will not do it again. Do not call the police,'" as he ran back to his house, Teague said.

Teague’s girl is now reluctant to play in her backyard, even though she knows that Tobergta is in jail.
"We're looking to take her to counseling,"

Timothy Teague, the girl's grandfather, said. He also said he is shocked by what happened.
"How can a man do something with a rubber raft in front of a 10-year-old? It's very unfortunate," he said.

Theresa Teague moved to the neighborhood last year and said she had no idea about Tobergta’s past.
"I feel that as ordinary citizens, we need to be aware of such things," she said.

Tobergta has been arrested several times before for similar offenses, according to the Hamilton Municipal Court records.
Police officers reported that Tobergta refused to put his clothes back on, tried to grab an officer and then threatened that officer.

Tobergta is being held in the Butler County Jail on $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned next week before Common Pleas of Butler County Judge Charles Pater.Mobile video not loading? Click here to view
