(Scroll down for video) For those of you who love to see the Israel Defense Forces in action, there is video showing one thousand troops jumping out of an airplane during a military exercise.

The Paratroopers division of the IDF held a special training session with a goal of gaining experience in jumping from airplanes during war. Part of the exercise called for the soldiers to parachute at night. About one thousand soldiers participated in the jump. The soldiers jumped from a military jet to attack an imaginary enemy inside their own territory.

"The exercise is aimed to mimic a war deep inside enemy territory," brigade commander Colonel Deputy Eliezer Toledano told the soldiers before the start of the exercise. "The Israel Defense Forces believes that exercise is the best practice to ensure good performance," the commander said. He also said that the military needs an effective Paratroopers division and it is impossible for the army to survive without one.

"All eyes are looking at us now, not only in Israel, but around the world. Our enemies will know that we can at any moment send in an army of one thousand troops anywhere we want,” the commander also said.

Several Israelis were injured after Israeli Arabs threw rocks at a passing Egged bus in Jerusalem, according to police reports.

The latest terrorist attack was reported at the entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem with Arabs throwing rocks at Israeli buses.

Jerusalem police said that Arabs threw large stones at an Egged bus traveling bear the Damascus Gate of the Old City on Thursday afternoon. The Israeli police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld tweeted the latest information through the social networking site Twitter.

Four people were lightly injured, Rosenfeld said, all of whom were treated at the scene by doctors from the emergency medical service Magen David Adom. The police raided the area in order to locate the attackers.

Security personnel also continue to search the area of Jerusalem for suspects behind two separate stabbing attacks. One man was stabbed at the Damascus Gate, while another man, 40-years-old, was seriously wounded by an Arab man, who stabbed him in Liberty Bell Park. He was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center, where he remains in serious condition with stab wounds in his back and hand.

The construction of the security barrier that separates the Palestinian Authority from the rest of Israel has largely blocked the ability of most terrorists to carry out suicide bombings and other mass casualty attacks. However, the security barrier has not been as effective in preventing terrorist incidents such as rock attacks, fire bombings and shootings, which are avoidable only with the active presence of more security personnel on the roads.

A British water company agreed to install a non-Israeli water meter after a customer decided to protest the installation of an Israeli made water meter, according to a report in The Jewish Chronicle.

An anti-Israel activist sat inside a hole in the ground as part of a protest that managed to change the hearts of water company executives.

Caroline O'Reilly was one of about a dozen protesters against British water company Southern Water. The activists have lobbied against the company’s agreement with the Israeli water company based in Arad.

Southern Water caved to the demand of the protester and installed a meter that was not made in Israel at a property in Brighton earlier this week after the specific case was discussed with directors of the company.

The company however, said it had no intention of boycotting Israel and that the measure taken with O'Reilly should not be interpreted as a new policy. There was no clear explanation of why they yielded to her demands.

Her campaign has been endorsed by the Green Party in Brighton Pavilion led by parliament minister Caroline Lucas, who lobbied on behalf of Southern Water activists.

The Brighton and Hove Palestine Solidarity Campaign, said it opposed the agreement with Arad due to the fact that the company installed water meters in Israeli West Bank settlements.

Seven Iranians were arrested for questioning after they were caught posing as Israelis with fake Israeli passports in Canada, according to police reports in Canada.

Canada Police said that two adults and five children were detained by authorities at Vancouver International Airport after they were found carrying fake passports of Israel. They also told authorities that they have family living in Rehovot, Israel. It was unclear when the incident occurred.

The seven people had arrived in Canada indirectly from Iran and planned to emigrate to Canada despite not having visas.

After discovering the forgeries, Canadian authorities contacted the Immigration and Population Authority of Israel, which confirmed the fake passports. Israeli officials said that the passports appear to have been stolen or lost by Israeli citizens. It is still unknown how the passports made their way to the Iranian family.

The passports at first seemed authentic, but a closer inspection revealed a variety of errors in the Hebrew language, including the misspelling of Jerusalem, the newspaper said. In the English language, it said that the passports were issued in the United States, while in Hebrew they said that they were issued in Rehovot, Israel.

U.S. baseball team suffers first ever loss to Israel at Maccabiah

Maccabiah games in Israel
By: Moses Gold

The U.S. baseball team never felt the taste of defeat at the Maccabiah games until this week.

No one was surprised when the U.S. 18 and under baseball team took gold at the Maccabiah games. There were only a total of three baseball teams at the Maccabiah, and the other two were Canada and Israel, countries not known for their dominance in baseball.
What no one expected, however, was that the U.S. will beat Canada with no-hitter games.

The first and the second no-hitter games in Maccabiah baseball history happened this year, courtesy of the U.S. team. They were not shy on offense, either. On Thursday, the U.S. beat Canada 12 to 0, and then they returned this week to beat Canada again, 14 to 0.

The fortunes of the U.S. team has been more volatile, however, in their matches against Israel. The U.S. maintained its dominance in his first game against the home team on Friday, beating Israel 15 to 1. However, on Tuesday, to everyone’s surprise, the U.S. team got a rude awakening from Israel, suffering its first ever defeat at the Maccabiah, as Israel beat the U.S. 5 to 3.

On Friday, the U.S. will play one more baseball game either against Israel or Canada.

Scott Alexander Greenberg, 28, is accused of killing fellow prisoner Damon Kelly Harding, 48, by stuffing toilet paper down his throat, choking him. Harding was in jail for burglary.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said Greenberg was held in jail without bail after he was accused of strangling his girlfriend during sex, he is awaiting trial for that crime.
According to Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, Greenberg used the same method to kill Harding as he killed his girlfriend, by strangulation.

Greenberg was behind bars and facing charges of second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, Jennifer Zale, 26. According to detectives, Greenberg and Zale had lived together at the Kenwood Inn Hotel in St. Petersburg for two weeks, when Zale was killed.

Greenberg told police that he and Zale engaged in consensual sexual relations and Zale voluntarily participated in an act of sexual asphyxia. He said that he put his hands around her neck and squeezed.
At some point, Zale fell unconscious and could not be awakened. Greenberg admitted to police that he waited eight hours before calling for help because he panicked and was not sure what to do.

Greenberg insisted that he did not intend to kill Zale and that the act was purely consensual.
Greenberg was initially charged with manslaughter, but those charges were upgraded when the autopsy revealed additional bruises on Zale’s body, which were consistent with murder.

Sheriff Gualtieri said that Harding was found with the same broken bones in his neck as Zale. In addition, toilet paper was found in Harding’s throat. Harding was found unconscious, fully dressed and on the floor of the cell he shared with Greenberg at about 1:00 am on Sunday. There were no signs of sexual assault.

Gualtieri said Greenberg had tried to hit prison guards in the past.
In addition to charges of second-degree murder he already faces in the death of Zale, Greenberg is now facing charges of first-degree murder in the death of Harding. He was placed in solitary confinement.

Vegan diet nearly kills kitten, cured with meat

Doctor Leanne Pinfold
By: Debbi Gross

(Scroll down for video) A veterinarian is warning people not to force their vegan lifestyle one their animals or they might die.

A kitten in Australia almost died after its owners fed it a strict vegetarian diet, just like the rest of the family.

The kitten’s owners thought they were doing a good thing by keeping it away from meat, but instead, it was nearly killed.

The animal was taken to the Lord Smith animal hospital in North Melbourne. "It was extremely weak, and it collapsed," Dr. Leanne Pinfold said. The cat was given fluids through a drip, placed on a heating pad and when it was able to eat it was fed meat.

This incident has caused a warning to be issued about the dangers of people "forcing their ideologies" on their pets.
“The cat's diet consisted of potatoes, rice, milk and pasta. This vegan diet had caused the cat to become critically ill,” Dr. Pinfold said.

The cat remained in the hospital for three days after which the owners of the kittens were told to feed meat to their pet at home. Dr. Pinfold said that cats need meat to survive. She said that people who wanted a pet that does not eat meat should consider having other animals, like rabbits.

"Carnivores will seek out meat and your cat is possibly more likely to go hunting and kill local native fauna if you deprive it of meat," Pinfold said.

"You have to worry about the welfare of your animals. You cannot force your ideology on your cat,” the doctor added.

(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested after he was found driving a car without a steering wheel.

Police officers were stunned when they stopped a car for erratic driving and found a man driving his car with pliers instead of a steering wheel.

The 38-year-old man was driving the broken down car without its steering wheel and both front wheels were busted. Pliers were clamped around the steering column and were used to steer the vehicle.

Police believe that the man has been involved in a hit and run accident, and in an attempt to flee from the scene he used pliers to drive away.

The driver was arrested after driving without due care and driving in a dangerous manner, as driving without a steering wheel renders the car unsafe to drive. He was charged with a number of violations including driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

In addition, the man tested positive for methamphetamines and cannabis, which explained his erratic driving.

Recently, police in Australia have set up ‘Operation distraction’, an initiative that was implemented statewide, where police cracked down on drivers, who use their cell phone or those who do not wear seat belts, while driving. They had very good results after more than 1,700 drivers were stopped for these offenses.

Union County Police said that a couple targeted a random sex offender, and killed a man and his wife. The man later told police that he planned to kill others on the state's sex list, authorities said Wednesday.

Jeremy Moody and his wife, Christine, were arrested and charged with murder, Union County Sheriff David Taylor said.

"The couple planned to kill additional sex offenders today," the sheriff said.

Moody did not know 59-year-old Charles Parker, but came to his home Sunday with plans to kill him, Taylor said during a press conference. Surveillance cameras outside the home of Parker shows that Moody and his wife came to his home on Sunday.

The Moodys and Parker spoke to each other for about 10 minutes, then it seems that the Moodys were invited inside. The video shows the suspects entering the house with what appears to be weapons, Taylor said.

The sheriff said that Moody told Parker: "You think I'm here to steal? I'm not here to steal. I'm here to kill you because you're a child molester."

Taylor said he did not know why Moody targeted a sex offender.
Both Charles Parker and his 51-year-old wife, Gretchen, were shot and stabbed. Taylor said Gretchen Parker was not specifically targeted, but was killed because she was in the house.

Investigators were also looking at whether Moody was affiliated with any white supremacist group.

Christine Moody, 36, has not spoken to deputies, the sheriff said.
The community where it occurred is about 80 miles northwest of Columbia.

Prosecutors said that an upstate New York man, who cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet, raped a girl, 10, and killed her mother. He pleaded guilty Wednesday to murder and sexual assault charges.
