Over 1,000 personalities worldwide declare: E.U. has no right to determine Israel’s borders

(Scroll down for video) Over one thousand distinguished individuals from around the world declared that the E.U. has no right to determine Israel’s borders, according to a reports by the Tazpit News Agency.

Over 1,000 international lawyers, ambassadors and professors from 30 different countries signed a petition protesting the European Union’s recent funding ban on Israel’s settlements.

Israel’s former ambassador to Canada and legal advisor, Alan Baker, who heads the Legal Forum for Israel’s International Action Division, initiated the petition and an accompanying letter, which drew widespread support across the world.

The Legal Forum, a legal advocacy group established in 2004, sent out the petition and protest letter to EU officials earlier this week.

In July, the European Union issued a directive barring its 28 member states from funding projects and ending cooperation with Israeli institutions in Judea and Samaria, the Golan Heights, and east Jerusalem.

According to Baker, the directive is discriminatory and based on a legal premise that is completely wrong. “The EU is incorrectly asserting that the pre-1967 lines are Israel’s borders and that the settlements are illegal. That is a misreading of international law,” Baker told Tazpit News Agency in an exclusive interview.

Baker believes that the EU’s recent calls are “absolutely unacceptable” and states that it was one of main reasons why the Legal Forum had first written the letter.

“It has not been determined that the 1949 armistice lines are Israel’s borders– that is one of the issues up for negotiations along with the settlements,” explains Baker. “The parties have to determine these issues at the negotiating table themselves; the EU has overstepped its status and no right to take international law into its own hands.”

The 1,100 signatures supporting the letter include lawyers as well as rabbis, senior ambassadors, and professors - both Jewish and Christian - from Australia, Britain, Bolivia, Greece, Norway, Mexico, Taiwan, France, Italy, Canada, the U.S. and India, among others.

Israeli justice minister, Yaakov Neeman, former Israeli ambassador to the United States, Meir Rosenne and UK House of Lords member Baroness Ruth Deech are among those who signed the letter.

The European Union was established following World War II to foster economic cooperation between countries that traded with one another, primarily in Europe. Today the EU is an organization that spans policy areas, from development aid to environment while promoting human rights. According to the EU’s website, “everything that the EU does is founded on treaties, voluntarily and democratically agreed by all member countries.”

“The EU feels that it can take this liberty with Israel. It has a fixation, an obsession with the Jewish state and it has shown that it not an impartial player in the peace process,” said Baker. “With this letter, we hope that EU members working with Catherine Ashton will consider a more impartial policy towards this area of the world.”

Man beats sister for bringing him McDonald's meal instead of Chinese food

Luciano Vasquez-Marte
By: John Roberts

A man was arrested for assault related charges after hitting his sister for bringing him the wrong food.

Instead of thanking his sister for buying him dinner, the unemployed man of Florida, hit her for buying a McDonald's dinner instead of dinner from his favorite Chinese takeout.

According to officers, Luciano Vasquez-Marte, 23, became aggressive when her sister Luisanna, 21, got him dinner from McDonald’s, but he wanted Chinese food.

Luisanna told officers that her brother got in her face and began "yelling and screaming" at her in their home in Land O 'Lakes, Florida. Feeling threatened, she pushed her brother.

Luciano then allegedly pushed her to the couch, and then used his fists to hit her several times in the head. Officers noted that Luisanna had marks on her head. Despite her injuries, Luisanna refused medical care, officers said.

Luciano told police that his sister brought him McDonald’s food even though she knows that he likes Chinese food from a local joint. He also said that his sister “was very disrespectful and began yelling at him about not liking what she got.”
Vasquez-Marte was booked into the county jail on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge.

Woman fined by court for loud sex that caused neighbors to have sleepless nights

Gemma Walker
By: David Ross

(Scroll down for video) A woman was fined by the court after neighbors complained that she was being too loud, especially during sex.

Gemma Walker, 31, of Middlesbrough, England, became the neighbor of hell, the court heard. She disturbed the peace of her neighbors with her loud noises.

Neighbors took Walker to court after they have recorded her having numerous loud sex sessions. They also recorded loud music, shouting and swearing. Neighbors, Ian Nicholls, and his wife Susan, said they suffered stress and sleepless nights since Walker moved in.

This is not the first time that the neighbors went to court. Several months ago a judge issued a noise abatement order for Walker after neighbors told the court they were unable to relax or sleep in their own home due to walker’s noise.

Walker was repeatedly warned on several occasions and was made aware that she could face sanctions for breach of the order.
But her failure to comply with the order was recorded six times in less than three months. Her loud lovemaking sessions were recorded and handed over to prosecutors.

At first, Walker, who is a single mother, denied the accusations that she was disturbing her neighbors, but then, changed her plea to guilty just before a trial was set to begin. Walker pleaded guilty to six counts of breach of the order, all of which were recorded.

The single mother, who is unemployed, and lives off government benefits, was ordered to pay fines of almost $2,000.
"I wish my life was so exciting that I was having sex all the time, but it is not,” Walker said.
“I'm a mother and I would not let my kids listen to that kind of thing,” she added.

New application lets you share leftover restaurant food with strangers

(Scroll down for video) Do you want restaurant food without paying for it? “The Leftover Swap” application will help you do just that.

Have you ordered too much food at an expensive restaurant and you feel bad that it will be thrown out? Don’t worry. Leftover Swap will find someone who wants it.

In the coming weeks, the Leftover Swap application will be available to download for free. When you have leftover food that you no longer want, just snap a photo of the leftovers and publish it to Leftover Swap. Other Leftover Swap users will be notified and someone might come and get the food.

Leftover Swap co founder Dan Newman admits: "It's obviously not for everybody, many people seemingly have a problem with it, but there are people who love the idea."

Leftover food no longer has to end up in the landfill, less fossil fuel is used, and people will feel less pressured to finish the food they no longer want as they can just give it away to someone who is in need.

While waiting for the release of the application, health officials in San Francisco, California are warning people that it is illegal to sell food to others without a licence. As long as you give away the food for free you're good, but if someone decides to charge for the leftovers then they could face a fine for selling food without a licence.

Health officials are also reminding people that regardless of how elegant and clean the restaurant is the food could have been handled by a consumer with bad hygiene standards. Just consider yourself warned and enjoy the free food.

Woman, 30, throws temper tantrum after husband wouldn't take her to the lake

Whitney Mongiat with husband James
By: Sarah Weiss

(Scroll down for video) A video of a grown woman throwing a temper tantrum has gone viral.

Whitney Mongiat, 30, is seen on video kicking and screaming in the front seat of a car.

Mongiat threw a tantrum because she wanted to go the lake, but her husband was unable to take her to the lake as he had other obligations.
In the video, while Mongiat is kicking and screaming, her husband James is heard explaining that she always gives him a hard time about fixing things around the house, and he was on the way to get supplies to do those chores.

Mongiat, who works as a nurse, said that her husband had promised to take her to the lake with some friends, but he changed his mind after they got into an argument.
Her husband James said he recorded the scene in Nashville, Tennessee, so he could show the world what he was going through with his wife of 14 months.

After the video went viral, Mongiat defended herself by saying that her breakdown was caused by him egging her on and that she felt she was being bullied. She also said she felt embarrassed after friends, family and coworkers had seen the video.

Interestingly enough, during her tantrum, Mongiat took out her cell phone and admitted to her husband that she was going to share her pain with her friends. “So you are going to make me look like the bad guy,” the husband is heard saying. “Yes because you are. You are not taking your wife out to the lake,” Mongiat replied while banging her fist.

When her husband shared his pain with friends and family through this video, she got pissed off. She ran away and reportedly wants a divorce.

James is standing by his claim that her actions seen on the video was an ongoing thing, which caused their marriage to fail after only 14 months.
He also said he had no regrets about posting the video online and that his friends support his actions.

The mother of the temper tantrum wife said that her daughter was “betrayed” by her husband. Beverly Jones said her daughter had been left humiliated by the video, which the mother claims was made secretly by her husband and posted on YouTube.
Jones said that her daughter had no idea she was being recorded and was blindsided when her husband put it on the internet.

During her tantrum, the wife is heard telling her husband: “everyone at work makes comments about you,” to which James calmly replied: “when they see this video they will understand.”

Well, how would her coworkers know about their marital problems if she did not share it with them.
Now, those same coworkers got to see the other side of the story.

Student who was forced to drink his own urine in holding cell wins $4.1 million

Daniel Chong

(Scroll down for video) A student, who was abandoned in a prison cell without food and water, won a lawsuit against the United States.

The college student from California, who was left in a cell for four days, will get $ 4.1 million in a lawsuit settlement.

Daniel Chong was forced to drink his own urine in order to stay alive. He also tried to write a farewell message to his mother with his own blood after her was detained by the Drug Enforcement Administration, or DEA, last year.

Chong was arrested by DEA officers along with eight other people after a drug raid at the home of a friend in San Diego during a party. Officials said they found 18,000 ecstasy pills, other drugs and weapons, in the operation.

Officers in prison told Chong that he will be going home, but instead they placed him in an isolated room and accidently left him in a 5-by-10-foot cell for 4 days.
When he was finally found by an officer, Chong was severely dehydrated and covered in his own feces.

Chong was treated in a hospital for five days after suffering from dehydration, kidney failure, cramps and other medical issues. He lost 15 pounds.
The DEA issued a public apology at the time, but so far, no one has been held responsible or punished for leaving Chong without food and water for 4 days.

After the near-death experience, his attorney filed a $20 million lawsuit against the federal government. Now, they agreed to settle for $4.1 million.

$375,000 beef burger now being sold in the United Kingdom

Would like to eat the most expensive burger ever made? Then, you would need to travel to the United Kingdom.
The 250,000 pound or $375,000 beef burger made with synthetic meat is now being served in the U.K.

It is the world’s most expensive burger, and consists of over 3,000 artificial meat strips.
The meat was produced from synthetic cow cells, grown in a laboratory.
A select few members of the public have been invited to see the burger, which will be cooked next week in West London.
It is expected to be sold in stores within the next ten years.

Professor Mark Post said on Sunday: "Over time, my view is that we will have a limited supply of animals to feed the world. So we basically kill animals and take all of their stem cells to grow more meat, so we would still need real animals for this technology. Right now, we are using 70 percent of our agricultural capacity to grow meat through livestock. We will need alternatives. If we do nothing, meat will become a luxury food and will become very expensive."

Man puts his pet turtle inside his KFC hamburger in order to smuggle it on plane

(Scroll down for video) A man came up with a clever idea in order to be able to take along his beloved pet on his trip, but unfortunately, he was caught, according to customs officials in China.

Officials at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport said that a man tried to smuggle his pet turtle through security at the airport by hiding it in a KFC burger.

The incident occurred on Monday morning when a man, Li, was about to board China Southern Airlines to Beijing. As Li went through airport security screening machines. the X-ray detected some "weird bumps" coming out of a KFC burger that the man had kept in his bag.

Airport staff determined that it looked like a turtle, and they asked to inspect Li’s luggage.
"There is no turtle in there, just a burger," Li reportedly said. "There is nothing special in there," he said.

Li finally agreed to an inspection after repeated requests by airport staff, who discovered the turtle hidden inside the burger. When asked why he did it Li said that he only wanted to travel with his "beloved" turtle.

After staff patiently explained that turtles cannot be smuggled aboard the plane, Li reluctantly allowed a friend to care for his pet during his absence.

Florida man busted with growing marijuana after blocking firefighters from burning room

Cayetano Rodriguez
By: John Roberts

(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with illegal drug distribution after he was caught growing marijuana plants, according to police reports in Florida.

St. Petersburg Police said that a man was arrested after he refused to allow firefighters to enter a locked room to extinguish an electrical fire. Meanwhile, once inside the room, they discovered a marijuana growing operation, authorities said.

Cayetano Rodriguez, 27, faces charges of obstructing firefighters and of cultivation of marijuana, police said.
On Monday, at 6:28 pm, firefighters were called to 727 North 54th Avenue after an electrical fire was reported inside the house.

When firefighters arrived, they found fire coming from the house, from a closed room and from the attic, police said.
Rodriguez, who had rented the house from his father, would not let them into the bedroom, police said. Therefore, they had to remove and pull the door open by force. Inside, they found between 75 and 100 marijuana plants in pots, police said.

He told police he was growing the plants for medical use, but later said it was to sell them, according to authorities.
He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail. He was released on bail Tuesday, according to online jail records.

Over 100 birds die after getting intoxicated by eating ants

By: Sarah Weiss

(Scroll down for video) More than one hundred birds were found dead after they became intoxicated by eating too many ants, according to a statement released by British scientists.

The seagulls have been found dead in lake Devon, which is located in the United Kingdom.

The birds were found in Wistlandpound Reservoir in Devon, and when the water has been shown to be safe, security officers believe that the birds could have gotten intoxicated on ants before falling into the lake.

The population of flying ants have jumped during the recent heat wave and the insects contain formic acid, which for the birds it acts as alcohol.

A South West Water spokesperson said: "We believe this is a phenomenon of the current environmental conditions, and not something to do with the reservoir."

Local resident Viv Gregory said the scene reminded him of Alfred Hitchcock's movie “The Birds”. He said: "When I started to drive down the hill, the dead seagulls were all over the place."

Dr. Rebecca Nesbit, an entomologist with the Society of Biology, said that formic acid in ants are not so good for birds, which could leave them a little drunk.

She said that could explain why they were not flying away when vehicles approached.
Experts also believe that the increase in seagull attacks on humans could also be due to them getting drunk on flying ants.
Locals have reported seagulls causing noise pollution, assaulting people and even stealing food from people's hands.

Hawaii offers homeless one way plane ticket back to the continental U.S.

(Scroll down for video) If you are homeless in Hawaii the state is offering you a free plane ticket, but only if you promise not to return.

The Department of Human Services of Hawaii will soon launch the interesting program in order to reduce the state's homeless population.

The "Return to Home" program seeks to cut spending on food programs, shelter and other services for the 17,000 homeless people living on the island by buying them a plane ticket.

The three-year pilot program is set to be launched during the current fiscal year and has already allocated $100,000 to fund airline tickets and cruises for the homeless back to the continental U.S.

"The administrative requirements and administrative burdens are costly," department spokesperson Kayla Rosenfeld said Tuesday. "Provisions will include transferring the homeless to the airport and counseling regarding airport security and proper hygiene addition. If state funds are used for the purpose of sending people home, participants must sign agreements to be recorded in databases," she said.

The "Return to Home" program will be offered to the Hawaii homeless population voluntarily. To be eligible, individuals must show proof that they have a support system in the state they are choosing to travel and can only be used once.

Collapsing building seen on video interrupting couple’s wedding

Building collapses during wedding
By: Ryan Lee Hall

(Scroll down for video) A couple froze during their wedding ceremony as a building collapsed just behind them, according to video uploaded to the internet.

The couple of Russia got video bombed by a building that suddenly began to collapse in the street. The couple is now debating whether it was a good or bad omen.

The incident occurred in Kostroma, Russia. As the couple went to the chapel, a large building suddenly began to collapse behind them in the street.

Speaking of getting video bombed on your wedding day, this could be the ultimate.
In the video below you can see the reaction of the surprised couple at the sudden noises and nervous laughter that followed.
While the collapse of the building has been a disaster for someone, we refuse to see this incident as a bad omen for this couple.

This is not the first time a wedding ceremony has been interrupted by an unexpected collapse. As we reported earlier, a wedding party ended with a splash when most of the party guests fell into a lake, according to video uploaded to the internet.

A newlywed couple in Georgia along with the wedding party guests said they had a sense of humor about falling into the lake during a photo session after the wedding ceremony.

Frank and Tricia Fearon said they were posing with their 29 bridesmaids and groomsmen at a lake after their wedding ceremony, when the structure collapsed and they all fell into Lake Lanier.

"The entire wedding party turned 90 degrees and just dumped all into the lake, suits, dresses and everything else," Frank Fearon said.
Tricia Fearon said the party had initially been considered lucky by dodging a 60 percent chance of rain.

"It seemed like magic because it did not rain", she said. "In the end though it didn’t matter because we were all thrown into the lake anyway," she also said.
The plunge was captured on video by wedding videographer and posted on YouTube.

The couple said that one woman suffered a broken humerus and a dislocated shoulder. The rest of the group escaped with minor injuries, they said.
The newlyweds said they do not consider their wedding ruined because of the incident.

"Nobody complained even though a lot of iPhones were damaged," Frank Fearon said. "Everyone laughed it off, dried themselves and went on to dance all night," he said.

"This was not a ruined wedding," Tricia Fearon said. "A million people came to us and told us it was the best wedding they had ever seen," she said.
"It was fun," she said. "We had a lot of fun," she added.

Rapper busted for murders after bragging about killing in song

Antwain Steward
By: Eva Fett

(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with two murder related charges after he bragged about the killings in a song, according to police reports in Virginia.

Newport News Police said that they have solved a double homicide cold case with the help of a local rapper, who allegedly boasted of the murders in the lyrics of one of his songs.

Antwain Steward, also known as Twain Gotti, was arrested earlier this month on suspicion of two murders. Newport News police said the rapper’s own lyrics led to his arrest. In his song "Ride Out", he raps:

"Listen, walk to your boy and I approached him, 12 midnight on his trap house porch and everybody saw when I f***in choked him. But nobody saw when I f***in smoked him, roped him, sharpened up the shank then I poked him, 357 Smith & Wesson scoped him."

Police have charged Steward with the murder of 16-year-old Christopher Horton and 20-year-old Brian Dean, who were shot dead in May 2007 in a gang-related incident on the front porch of the house of Dean in Newport News. According to court documents, investigators believe that Steward and Horton had an argument earlier in the day. Steward is believed to have been a member of the street gang Wickzoo at the time of Horton's death. The victim apparently belonged to Dump Squad, a rival gang.

Steward refutes the charges against him. On Tuesday, tweeted: "Don’t believe the BS". Later that day, he wrote, "S/O to everyone, who is supporting me through the BS. Innocent is a fact! Everyone knows with love comes hate!"
Steward was arrested in 2011 in connection with a drive-by shooting in the neighboring city of Hampton.

After his latest arrest, Steward was charged with two counts of felony murder, one count of illegal discharge of a firearm and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is being held without bail in jail in the city of Newport News.

Child arrested after selling hundreds of weapons online

The weapons found in the child's home
By: Moses Gold

A child was arrested and charged with illegal weapons possession related charges after he was caught selling hundreds of weapons on the internet, according to police reports in Spain.

Spain Police said that a minor near the city of Toledo, has been arrested by the police for selling hundreds of illegal weapons online. Authorities found a huge arsenal of weapons in his home.

Authorities said Tuesday that he was detained by the Spanish National Police in the town of Mount Casarrubios on charges of illegal weapons possession, production and sale of illegal weapons.

In the suspect's home, police found more than 200 illegal weapons such as daggers, knives, brass knuckles, pepper spray, tasers and rifles, also disguised as mobile phones. Apparently the latter was the best-selling online at a cost of 40 euros each.
The selection of Italian switch blades had Nazi SS inscriptions.

The child apparently even made his own brass knuckles, with various molds and sold them for 25 euros each.
Although police did not reveal the suspect's age, they did state that he was under 18 years.

Authorities believe the suspect sold most of the weapons on a website. Several investigations led them to the house of the child.
Toledo has a tradition as the sword and knife capital of Spain, and it seems the young child followed the tradition.
