Don A. Samuelson
By: John Roberts

A professor was caught with a camera pen that contained pornographic images of his students.

Don A. Samuelson was arrested by police at the University of Florida. He was charged with two counts of video voyeurism.

(Voyeurism is the sexual interest in or practice of spying on people engaged in intimate behaviors, such as undressing, sexual activity, or other actions usually considered to be of a private nature.)

Police said that on different occasions he used his camera pen to record under the shirts of students. The professor pointed the pen to the cleavage of the victim and recorded them.

The professor was caught when he used the camera pen up the skirt of a student, who realized she was being recorded and reported him to the authorities. Campus police recovered several pornographic images on the camera pen, and the professor reportedly admitted it was his.

In other electronic devices that belonged to professor Samuelson, police recovered videos of women, who were working in the lab and of a woman, who met with him in his office.

Samuelson told investigators he was trying to gather evidence that one of the women did not wear underwear because he thought it was inappropriate.

"He was placed on administrative leave as soon as the university learned of the charges against him, and he is prohibited to be on campus," Janine Sikes Assistant Vice President of Media Relations University of Florida said.

Mother arrested after reporting son’s diaper rash as sexual assault by boyfriend

Zara Crank
By: David Ross

A woman called police to report that her boyfriend had raped her son.

However, she was arrested and charged with child neglect.

Zara Crank, 22, of Redding, California, called police after discovering that her son had redness on his genital area.

Crank called police and requested officers meet with her at the Shasta Regional Medical Center, where she reported that her 4-year-old son had been sexually abused by her boyfriend.

Crank showed doctors and police officers the redness on her son’s genitals and claimed that her boyfriend raped her son. Upon further examination it was determined that the boy was not sexually assaulted, but rather he had a bad diaper rash that was caused by the mother neglecting the child.

During the interview with police, officers noticed a small bag of methamphetamine falling out of the mother’s tank top. Crank also seemed to be high on meth while talking to officers.

When officers questioned her as to the substance inside the container, Crank admitted that it was methamphetamine and said she had used it the night before. Upon further questioning, Crank admitted that she had been taking drugs for four days straight and that she had not been taking care of her son.

Officers were unable to determine if anyone was watching the child during the days which Crank was high on methamphetamine.
She was booked into jail on charges child endangerment, and possession of a controlled substance.

A Jewish man and his son, in business together, have won a 22 million shekel lottery jackpot just in time for the Jewish holiday season, according to a report by Israeli lottery officials.

The father and son of Ashkelon, bought the lottery ticket the day before the Jewish New Year. On Sunday, the two came to the lottery headquarters in order to claim their winnings.

The father, 70-years-old, and his 35-year-old son, work together in marketing. They have not yet shared the news with the rest of their family. Although the money is expected to change their lives, they promised to continue to work and continue their daily routine as usual.

"I always told my son that nobody really wins the lottery jackpot," the father said.

They also said that they still do not know how their neighbors will react to the news.

"We need to think carefully how to proceed in order not to attract attention, but anyway, we have no special and big dreams," the two said.

“I promise to help my other children as well,” the father said.

Rare photos show the Sukkot festival in the Ghetto of Lodz

Jews performing Lulav ritual in Lodz ghetto

New photos were recently released that show how the Sukkot festival was celebrated under the terror of the Nazi regime during World War Two, according to a report by the Tazpit News Agency.

A series of photos documenting the observance of Sukkot in Ghetto Lodz in 1941 were recently revealed by the Shem Olam Institute, also known as the Faith & Holocaust Institute for Education Documentation and Research in Kfar Haroeh.

The photos show the ghetto’s Jewish occupants praying with the Four Species – the etrog (citron), lulav (palm), hadass (myrtle) and aravah (willow) required for Sukkot – as well as having built a sukkah, the special temporary dwelling for eating and sleeping throughout the seven-day holiday.

It was no easy task for the ghetto residents to obtain two sets of the Four Species in order to properly celebrate Sukkot in 1941, according to Rabbi Avraham Krieger, director of the Shem Olam Institute.

The Nazis had decreed that Jews would be forced to live in closed off and cramped areas known as ghettos once Germany invaded Poland in 1939, until the Nazis decided what would be done with the Jewish population. In February 1940, the order to establish the Lodz ghetto was passed and Jews throughout the city were forced to move in.

According to Rabbi Avraham Krieger, the etrogim may have been smuggled into the ghetto after a long journey from Israel or Greece.

The leader of the Jewish ghetto, Mordechai Chaim Rumkowski, gave special permission for a few of the ghetto’s Jewish residents to travel to Warsaw and try to locate the Four Species, which were almost impossible to find in Eastern Europe at the time.

Once the Four Species reached the ghetto, Jewish residents waited in long lines in order to bless them. A letter of thanks to Rumkowski sent from the Gur Hassidim of the ghetto – dated September 1941 – expressed the residents’ appreciation for blessing the four species and the joy they felt for being able to do so.

Likewise, explains Rabbi Krieger, building a sukkah was a difficult feat as well at the time.

“The ghetto was in a constant state of crisis for materials to keep the people warm. Every piece of wood for fire was needed, including doors and window frames. Therefore in order to build a sukkah, the people needed special permission to retain the wood for this purpose.”

The Shem Olam Institute was established in 1996 by Rabbi Avraham Krieger to document and share the issues of faith and survival during the Holocaust. The institute has more than 800,000 documents and exhibits that share the world of Jewish faith and spirit in the Holocaust.

Neo-Nazi group to take over North Dakota city

Protest against neo-Nazi party in North Dakota

(Scroll down for video) A neo-Nazi group is planning to take over the leadership of a small city in North Dakota.

Hundreds of protesters gathered in the Leith on Sunday, in order to protest against plans for a U.S. Nazi group to enter and take over the local government.

The strong but peaceful demonstrators, many of them Native Americans from nearby reserves, were present at the visit of Jeff Schoep, commander of the National Socialist Movement, and several followers.

The National Socialist Movement is the largest neo-Nazi organization in the United States, founded in 1974 by former members of the American Nazi Party, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

The group hopes to move enough members into Leith, a population of 17, in order to take over the local government.

"We have to start somewhere," Schoep said.

"So we will start small and spread from there. It is a kind of testing ground in that sense. If we are able to get off the ground here, then we are able to get off the ground elsewhere," he also said.

Schoep and his followers were in Leith on Sunday to inspect the property purchased for them by local resident Craig Cobb, whose courtyard is decorated with swastika flags.

Local authorities are opposed to the group's plans.

Boy, 8, seen on video riding tricycle in front of cars on busy highway

Boy riding tricycle

(Scroll down for video) A young boy wanted to cruise down a highway, but instead of driving a car he used a tricycle.

The 8-year-old boy stole the attention of motorists while driving along a busy highway in Brazil.

The boy described his adventure as “very cool”.

One Friday afternoon, the 8-year-old who lives with his parents in a community near the Sambadrome, in Rio de Janeiro, was seen bathing in a fountain next to City Hall. That is when he was spotted an abandoned tricycle.

The boy took the tricycle for a cruise down the busy highway. Whenever a car came close to him the boy raised his arm in an attempt to get the driver’s attention.

When the drivers honked their horns so the boy would get out-of-the-way he swerved to the side of the road. As soon as the car passed the boy drove back onto the road.

The boy said he enjoyed the drive and he was “not afraid”. He especially enjoyed seeing himself doing his antics on television after a station showed the video clip of him riding down the highway in front of cars.

He also said that he does not know whether he will repeat the adventure. "I do not know, maybe," the boy said.
The Municipal Secretariat of Social Development (SMDS) said it will investigate the child's family.

Police officer banned from strip club after exposing himself while dressed in uniform

Michael Forrest
By: John Roberts

The sight of a police officer walking into a strip club usually means trouble.

However, it turns out that one officer was looking to have a good time and a lap dance.

Sergeant Michael Forrest of Indianapolis, Indiana, lost his job after he went to a strip club with his police cruiser while dressed in full uniform.

At the strip club he got a lap dance during which he exposed himself. The officer was advised that he was banned from the strip club due to his behavior. He was also informed that there are video cameras that record everything in the club.

Police were notified about the officer’s actions and he was suspended without pay. A video of the incident showed Forrest in police uniform at the bar buying a drink for a dancer. Then, the two went upstairs to a private room for a lap dance.

The video also showed Forrest participating in a sexual act while the dancer danced around.

Forrest, who is a 24-year veteran with the Indianapolis police department, appeared in court to plead guilty to the charges.
He initially faced charges of official misconduct and prostitution. Prosecutors lowered the charges to just one charge of public indecency, a misdemeanor. Forrest was sentenced to one year probation.

12 firefighters sent to rescue teenage girl who got stuck in a swing

The teenager stuck in a swing
By: Shifra Unger

Talk about embarrassment. A teenage girl was left red-faced after firefighters had to take her out of a baby swing.

The teenager playfully went into the baby swing, but was unable to get out of it by herself.

Three fire trucks and at least a dozen firefighters were sent to free her from the swing.

Many of us have seen teenagers getting into baby swings at local parks. This girl slid herself into the swing at the Finsbury Park, in north London. After having fun, she tried to get out, but was not able to do so without professional help.

After 15 minutes, the 12 firefighters, who arrived in three separate fire trucks, were finally able to release her after removing the swing from its frame and sliding the swing out of her legs.

One onlooker said that the girl was more embarrassed than hurt. "She had her hands on her face in shame. She was embarrassed because there were a lot of people watching and taking photos of the rescue.”

Former police officer jailed after 4-year-old girls perform oral sex on him

Michael D. Fernsler
By: Ryan Lee Hall

(Scroll down for video) A man will spend up to 52 years in prison after ordering two young girls, who are 4-years-old, to perform oral sex on him.

Unfortunately, his crime spree did not end when he was arrested. While he was out on bail and awaiting trial, he tried to rape another girl at knifepoint.

Michael D. Fernsler, 40, has lost the appeal of his convictions for kidnapping, attempted rape, and having two 4-year-old girls perform oral sex on him. In denying his appeal, a State County Superior Court ruled that he waited too long to challenge the convictions.

Fernsler worked as a police officer with the Shippensburg University police force in Pennsylvania, at the time of his arrest. He was initially arrested for sexually abusing two four-year-old girls when he and his wife were visiting the victims’ home.
The girls told Fernsler’s wife of the assault while she drove them to a playgroup.

He later confessed to the crimes. While he was out on bail, just one day before he was to be sentenced in the case, he kidnapped a teenage girl at knifepoint as she got off her school bus.

Fernsler tied her up with duct tape and forced her into the woods. Luckily, the girl managed to escape while he was in the process of trying to rape her.

Fernsler was sentenced to 26 to 52 years in prison for the sexual assault on the four-year-old girls. Four months later, he was sentenced to a consecutive prison term of 12 to 25 years in prison for the attempted rape at knifepoint.

Woman hides son, 3, in yard then calls police claiming he was kidnapped

Kevin Smith
By: Eva Fett

(Scroll down for video) Jade Smith, 25, was arrested by police in Dayton, Ohio, and is accused of faking the kidnapping of her son, three-years-old.

The mother called police saying her son had been taken. A recording of the call was released, and she is heard telling the dispatcher: "I was here, Oh God, I'm panicking. I was here, that's all I was doing, and somebody had to take my baby.”

Police said that the mother called for help around 3:00 pm on Friday, claiming her son disappeared from inside her car that was parked at a glass repair shop.

Police said that the mother told them she took her car to be fixed after her windshield was broken during a fight with her baby’s father the night before.

During the investigation, the woman told police that she left the sleeping toddler in the car, and when she returned her 3-year-old son Kevin was gone. However, investigators became suspicious after there were many inconsistencies in her story, leading them to believe she was lying.

After an intensive search for the boy, they discovered that it was all a hoax. The boy was found in the backyard of his grandmother’s house, all alone. The grandmother was out-of-town at the time.

When confronted, Smith reportedly told investigators that she left her son alone in the cold for six hours at night because she was angry with the child's father.

The boy was taken to the hospital for observation. The boy is said to be in good condition, but was extremely scared after being alone for so many hours. The child was placed in the custody of his father.
The mother was arrested and charged with child neglect. Her bail was set at $25,000.

York restaurant under fire after employees write ‘gay guys’ on receipt

Gay guys written on bill
By: Ryan Lee Hall

A restaurant came under extreme criticism after workers decided to identify two guys as the “gay guys” on their receipt.

The slur was used to identify two men, who were sitting in a bar located in Judson, United Kingdom. 26-year-old Al Butler and his platonic friend, who identified himself as straight, said he was extremely surprised.

"Obviously I thought it was inappropriate," Butler said in an interview. "It is equally unacceptable like racism. It's not a bad thing to be called gay, although I'm not and neither is my friend, but I think that jumping to conclusions is bad," Butler also said.

After issuing a complaint in person about the incident, the bartender told Butler: "Sorry, I cannot do anything."

Bar owner Peter Ward has issued a public apology, saying: "We have apologized unreservedly. Though it was completely wrong, I do not feel it was a biased incident. It was completely unprofessional and not what our business is about."

The waitress in question has been sanctioned and Judson bar is looking into training strategies in order to ensure that the incident does not happen again.

The man of Brentwood, United Kingdom, was taken to a nearby hospital on Saturday, shortly after the incident.

The vicar and the florist were taking care of the final preparations in the church, when the man came staggering into the All Saints Church in Hutton, Essex.

One of the guests said he saw the sliced genitals on the ground.

The guest said the pastor told people that the groom was going crazy and throwing chairs around, and that he was surprised that he remained conscious.

The bride was not informed about the cause of the delay until the day had passed.

(Scroll down for video) A former teacher, who was recently dismissed, was found dead after publishing a suicide note on Facebook, according to police reports in Pennsylvania.

The former Pennsylvania high school teacher has posted a detailed suicide note describing the loss of his work and the desire to get out of this terrible world on Facebook.

Christopher Swanson, 41, was found dead on Friday morning in front of a fountain on the Mercyhurst Campus University in Erie.

He was a former science teacher at Smethport, a small town about 100 miles southeast of Erie.

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook said that the teacher’s death was a result of self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The coroner's office estimated that the shooting occurred between 2:00 am to 4:00 am on Saturday.

The teacher’s Facebook message read:

"I'll kill myself. I'll shoot myself in the head with an 1891 Argentine Mauser rifle that I inherited from my grandfather. I was hoping this gun would be something I would pass on to my children, along with stories about my grandfather, but I 'm going to kill myself with it instead. I cannot justify existing in this horrible world, this vile despicable world where it is impossible for me to be happy."

On the website, there was a series of alleged reasons for suicide. Each is known as a "trigger".
College President Tom Gamble addressed the incident in a letter posted on Twitter on Friday.

"Our prayers are with the deceased and his family. Counseling and prayer services will be held soon. Please remain calm and respectful," Gamble said.
