Fearful neighbors have called police, after they observed a scarecrow, which was buried upside down, according to police reports in the United Kingdom.

Talk about wasting police time.

When officers received an emergency call about a man trapped upside down in a ditch in a quiet village in Oxfordshire, they quickly rushed to the scene.

Officers were in the mood to laugh after the man, who apparently was suffering outside the Plough pub in Little Bourton on Sunday, turned out to be a scarecrow.

Owner Sam Harrison, 60, created his scarecrow trapped upside down in sand as part of a scarecrow contest for charity.

“Our scarecrow was one of 14 made by villagers in Little Bourton for a competition to raise money for a cancer charity," he said.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police confirmed they received an emergency call about a man lying in a ditch outside the pub, but the man turned out to be a scarecrow.

Boy, 15, charged with hanging his 9-year-old sister

Katelyn Arnold

(Scroll down for video) A boy was arrested and charged with capital murder after the hanging death of his little sister, according to court proceedings in Alabama.

St. Clair County District Attorney Richard Minor said that 15-year-old John Dillon Salers is charged in the death of Katelyn Arnold of Ragland.

Minor said that Salers is not eligible for the death penalty because he was only 14-years-old at the time of the girl's death, last year.

Salers and the girl were in the care of their aunt and uncle, at the time of her death on May 10, 2012.

Authorities said the boy called the girl over to a tree while riding her bicycle near the house. The girl’s mother later found her hanging from a rope.

As we reported earlier, a 14-year-old half-brother of an Alabama girl, who was found hanging from a tree, was charged with murder on Friday, in her death, authorities said.

The body of Katelyn Arnold, 9, was discovered on Thursday night, outside her home in Ragland, a rural town about 40 miles northeast of Birmingham.

A cotton rope from an old swing was deliberately tied into a simple knot around the neck of the girl, but was not a hangman's noose, a sheriff said.

St. Clair County Coroner Dennis Russell said an autopsy found that the cause of death was a homicide by ligature strangulation.

A call came into the sheriff's office about 8:10 p.m. and by the time investigators arrived, rescuers had removed the girl from the tree. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.

After the girl was found and taken to hospital, the boy went to bed. He was arrested between 2 and 3 a.m. and admitted to killing the girl. He said the boy told investigators a motive.

"It was not accidental. It was definitely intentional," prosecutors said.

By: John Roberts

(Scroll down for video) Most men don’t turn down an offer for a lap dance.

One stripper reacted violently, when a man rejected her offer.

Maxine Nicole Passmore, 25, a stripper at the Masters Gentlemen’s Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was arrested after repeatedly hitting a man in the club because he refused her lap dance offer.

Ernest Kadlick, 31, was at the club with a group of friends. They were having a good time when Kadlick placed his money on the table.

The stripper noticed the money and offered him a lap dance. The man politely declined her offer. Passmore would not take no for an answer.

She started rubbing up against him and tried to sweet talk the man. The two exchanged some words before Kadlick called the stripper a b***ch. At that point, the stripper became violent and she hit Kadlick 5 times, leaving a bruise above his eye.

When police arrived, Kadlick was holding a towel filled with ice on his face. An officer observed “a welt on his left eyebrow area.”
Passmore claimed self-defense.

She claimed that she hit Kadlick in response to being punched by him, although no witnesses were able to corroborate her claim. Passmore was arrested and taken to jail in Myrtle Beach, where she was released on bail.

(Scroll down for video) A weatherman brought laughter to many after he mistook cat vomit for grape nuts.

Scot Haney, a weatherman in Hartford, Connecticut, accidentally ate cat vomit on live television.

During the morning newscast, Haney picked up what he thought was grape nuts off of the studio floor and took it into his mouth. "They're a little soggy. They taste like shoes," he said while he was chewing the “nuts”.

The crew could not help but laugh at him at his misfortune, when he realized it was not grape nuts, but rather his cat’s dried out vomit.

When he realized the disgusting mistake, Haney came back on air and made an announcement: "Ladies and gentlemen, those were not grape nuts that I ate. I kept finding more and more of it on the floor. I thought it was grape nuts," Haney told viewers, holding up his shoe.

"My cat threw up, and I must have stepped in it and that's what I ate. I ate cat vomit, right here on television. It's disgusting. I'm going to throw up!" He said.

While it is very funny, some people have expressed their scepticism.
“I think this video was staged, set-up and they're all acting. It's a fake. They wanted to see if they could go viral," Saltine Warrior wrote.

“Why would a grown man pick grape nuts or any food from the floor and then eat it?” Another wrote.

By: Sarah Weiss

(Scroll down for video) A thief stole too many items and apparently was unable to carry it all. He took some of it and then came back for the rest.

Charles Oberlin Jr., 18, of Ingleside, Illinois, was caught early on Tuesday morning, when he returned to the scene of a crime to recover the stolen items he had left behind, and one of the victims was waiting for him.

Over a number of weeks, Oberlin broke into numerous homes and stole many items including vehicles, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Office of Lake County.

At his latest burglary, the teen found a key hidden inside a pickup truck and decided to take the vehicle, which was filled with tools.

Oberlin left some of the stolen items wrapped in a blanket on the side of the road next to where the truck had been parked, police said.

The owner of the truck, Justin Wicinski, 32, found the blanket full of stolen items, and replaced the goods with a pile of bricks. Since he did not have his truck or tools he was unable to go to work, so he waited hoping for the thief to return.

He did. Oberlin returned with a friend at about 7:00 a.m. When he came out of the car to recover the stolen goods, the owner of the pickup truck grabbed the teen and held him until police arrived.

Oberlin was charged with burglary, theft of a motor vehicle and three counts of felony theft , police said. He was held in lieu of $50,000 bond.

Man arrested after posing as police detective to rob people

James Blackman

A man forced people into his SUV by saying they were under police investigation.

Chicago, Illinois police, have arrested a man, who posed as a federal agent to rob unsuspecting victims at gunpoint on the South Side.

James Blackman, 46, was charged with armed robbery with a firearm, aggravated robbery, impersonating a police officer and aggravated kidnapping.

Police said that Blackman robbed at least 4 people while posing as a police detective.

During each of the crimes, Blackman told the victims that he was a federal agent named "Officer Franklin" in order to lure victims to his silver SUV. He then drove the victim to a side street where he robbed them.

Last month, police issued a community alert warning about a man, who drove up to individuals standing alone. He told them that he was conducting a criminal investigation. He convinced the people to get into his car and come with him.

One of the victims called police after Blackman robbed him of $400.00, which he intended to use for his upcoming wedding reception.

A man ruined a young girl's life by crushing her body after she did not want to have sex with him.

Police said that a Florida man choked and ran over a 14-year-old girl with an SUV when she refused to have sex with him.

Adrian Mendez, 21, was arrested at his home in Marion County. The girl was found lying on the side of the road at about 7:00 p.m., with severe injuries. Her legs and hips were crushed. She also had injuries to her neck.

At first, she was in critical condition, but now, she is said to be in stable condition.

When she was able to speak, the girl told police that Mendez offered her $200 to have sex with him. When she refused, he dragged her by the hair to his truck and choked her until she lost consciousness.

Witnesses called police after seeing a SUV driving forward and backward over the girl several times. "The worst thing of all was the second time when he hit her. He got on top of her, he hit the brakes and was doing a spin out on the girl," witness Shane Green said.

The victim, who did not know Mendez, picked him out in a photo line up.
Mendez was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and false imprisonment.

Man who had sex with 1,000 cars chooses one car as his wife

Edward Smith
By: Eva Fett

(Scroll down for video) Edward Smith never had to spend a lot of money on his dates.

He never had an argument with his lover. In fact, he never sex with a human being.

During the past 45 years, Edward Smith, 62, had sex with over 1,000 cars.

Smith of Yelm, Washington, is a mechaphile, meaning he is sexually attracted to cars rather than people. His love affairs with cars included sexy vehicles such as Mustangs and Jaguars. He even had sex with helicopters.

Edward first became attracted to cars when he was a teenager. He was so embarrassed by his sexual attraction to cars that he went to see a therapist. Things did not change, as he was in love with cars.

Apparently, Smith is not the only one with this weird attraction. Smith has found a group of people on the Internet, who are also sexually attracted to cars.

Smith said he slept with over 1,000 cars, but his days of sleeping around with a different car every week are over.

He has committed himself to one car that he calls his lover, and named it Vanilla. The car is a second-hand Volkswagen Beetle that he bought 30 years ago.

Vanilla is "the one," he said. Edward cleans the car constantly, he is obsessed with “her” beautiful curves. He kisses the car and makes out with it.

"When I hold my arms around Vanilla there is a powerful energy that comes from it. If anything was to happen to her I would be more than broken-hearted,” Smith said.

"I would say that it is very satisfying, but sometimes a little sad because I know it cannot talk to me. Overall, I know she feels what I feel and it is intense," he added.

California city to charge people exercising in public parks

The days of exercising for free in public parks are over, at least in one California city.

A quiet beachfront city plans to start charging fitness trainers for using its parks after months of complaints from residents that the commercial classes are infringing on park goers in Santa Monica.

The City Council voted 5 to 1 on Tuesday night, to approve an ordinance requiring fees, with prices determined by the number of people enrolled in a particular class. Fees begin at several hundred dollars.

The ordinance also prohibits exercise classes on Sundays, at the signature Palisades Park in Santa Monica with its breathtaking ocean views.

The measure requires a second reading before it becomes law.

People have also complained that weights, treadmills and other heavy equipment needed for some classes are damaging the landscape of the park.

"It's starting to look like a 24-hour gym out here," former Olympic track star Johnny Gray, who often runs in the park, said.

(Scroll down for video) Several Palestinians were arrested and will be charged with murder after a former Israeli army colonel was found hacked to death in the Israeli controlled West Bank, according to a statement released by police.

The latest killing is just the latest in a series of incidents in the last month that have led to concerns about increased violence.

Seraya Ofer, 61, was beaten to death outside his home in the settlement of Brosh Habika in the Jordan Valley. His wife, Monique Mor, told police he had been attacked with iron rods and an ax after he went to investigate noises outside his home late on Thursday night.

She fled from the house, and called an acquaintance, who called security forces as she hid in bushes behind a barbed wire fence.

The woman's daughter said her mother hid in the bushes for two hours without a phone. The woman heard people speaking in Arabic.

"We believe that it was a terrorist attack, although criminal motives have not been ruled out," Israeli police spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld said.
