Fearful neighbors have called police, after they observed a scarecrow, which was buried upside down, according to police reports in the United Kingdom.
Talk about wasting police time.
When officers received an emergency call about a man trapped upside down in a ditch in a quiet village in Oxfordshire, they quickly rushed to the scene.
Officers were in the mood to laugh after the man, who apparently was suffering outside the Plough pub in Little Bourton on Sunday, turned out to be a scarecrow.
Owner Sam Harrison, 60, created his scarecrow trapped upside down in sand as part of a scarecrow contest for charity.
“Our scarecrow was one of 14 made by villagers in Little Bourton for a competition to raise money for a cancer charity," he said.
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police confirmed they received an emergency call about a man lying in a ditch outside the pub, but the man turned out to be a scarecrow.
