British soldiers seen giving Nazi salutes

British soldiers giving Nazi Salute
By: John Roberts

People are calling for disciplinary action against several British soldiers after they were seen giving Nazi salutes, according to photos uploaded to the Internet.

Two British Army soldiers have been photographed giving Nazi salutes while standing in front of a Union flag.

The two, dressed in camouflage, have their right arm raised and stretched in the picture.

However, some are defending the gesture as a show of solidarity with Loyalists in Northern Ireland.

The Union flag is inscribed with the words "Invicta loyal" and below it hangs a flag of Northern Ireland.

"This is not a greeting made by bands in Northern Ireland, it is unclear what the context of the salutes are, but I think it can be explained as something other than the Nazi salute," Minister of Parliament Sammy Wilson said.

"Anyone who mimics the Nazi salute in front of the Union flag dishonors the British Army. Any symbolism associated with fascism has no place in the unionist tradition or any regiment of the British Army," Minister of Parliament Jeffrey Donaldson said.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed that the men were serving soldiers when the photo was taken.

The Defense Ministry also said the incident has been investigated and administrative action was taken at the time in which the soldiers were punished by their chain of command.

(Scroll down for video) A woman suffered excruciating pain for several years after a dental implant ended up in her sinus, according to doctors in Italy.

The 57-year-old woman had undergone oral surgery about two years ago at which time an implant, a two-inch long screw designed to hold in place a replacement for a missing tooth, was placed inside her upper jaw.

Surprisingly, an inspection of her mouth revealed that the implant was not there. Instead, the gums that covered the surface of her missing tooth were healed.

A CT scan showed that the implant was in her nasal cavity, next to her left eye. The researchers performed a surgery to remove the dental implant, after which the woman's pain disappeared.

Eight months later, she remains healthy, according to the case report published on Wednesday, in the New England Journal of Medicine.

The researchers said that the implant may have moved because of incorrect placement, or as a result of eroding tissue around the implant and bone loss.

The drugs that were found
By: Ryan Lee Hall

(Scroll down for video) Drug smugglers have come up with a new idea to recruit mules, according to police reports in Australia.

A Perth couple, who was involuntarily turned into drug mules after winning a dream vacation to Canada, feared that they could have spent the rest of their lives in prison.

The couple was told that they are the lucky winners of a trip with all expenses paid, including accommodations and new luggage.

After a week in North America, the couple became suspicious about their new luggage, and when they returned to Western Australia, they reported themselves to customs.

Australian Customs found $7 million worth of methamphetamine inside their luggage.

The woman, 64, said that they were looking online for a vacation, and after entering a contest online she was contacted and told that she won a vacation.

"Be very careful if you win anything," she said.

"I could have ended up in jail for 25 years, and it might have ruined my life. So be very careful, and check everything,” she also said.

The ruthless scam was discovered by Australian detectives earlier this month.

The scam involves a website based in Canada, which targets elderly Australians couples with the potential to win a trip with all expenses paid.

Police said that the elderly couple’s luggage was exchanged while in Canada, and the couple had no idea that they were being duped into smuggling drugs back home.

Australian Federal Police arrested a Canadian man, 38, at the airport after he came to meet the couple.

The man was charged with importing a commercial quantity of a controlled substance.

"Do not allow someone else to pack your suitcase and do not take luggage on behalf of another person," police warned.

Jeremy Anderson
By: Moses Gold

A man was arrested and charged with arson after he allegedly burned his house in order to cook his Bible, according to police reports in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma City Police said that a confrontation led a man to set fire to his house.

Police arrived at the 1400 block of Indiana Avenue on Wednesday, where they found 22-year-old Jeremy Anderson shirtless, screaming random stuff and clearly out of touch with reality.

When police approached the porch of the house, they noticed that the door was removed from the hinges. When police tried to enter the home, Anderson threw objects at the door, almost hitting the officers.

An officer attempted to use a Taser on Anderson, but missed his shot. Police said Anderson laughed at them and told them that the Taser would not affect him.

Officers tried to talk to Anderson and implement crisis management techniques, but it had no affect on him, still ranting, raving and throwing things out the door.

When more officers arrived, Anderson told the officers if they all put down their weapons, he would fist fight them all and win.

Police said they received a key to the back door of the house from the Housing Authority of the City of Oklahoma.

As officers quietly unlocked the back door, Anderson started breaking windows as he was yelling obscenities at police.

Investigators said a fire started burning in the kitchen and quickly spread to other areas of the house. Officials said they reacted quickly and entered the house with riot control equipment.

Police had to drag out Anderson from the burning apartment against his will.

Police noticed blood, water, chlorine and other substances on the kitchen floor. There was blood on the walls and furniture around the apartment. Police said there was broken glass all over the apartment.

Anderson said he did nothing wrong and was only remodeling the apartment, which was why he was throwing things out the door.

He also told police that the fire started when he began cooking the Bible.

Anderson was taken to the Oklahoma County jail.

Pregnant woman arrested and forced to take drugs

Alicia Beltran
By: Debbi Gross

When a pregnant woman went to the doctor for her prenatal checkup, she never expected that her doctor would turn on her, have her arrested and drugged.

Alicia Beltran, 28, of Jackson, Wisconsin, was 14 weeks pregnant when she went to Dr. Angela Breckenridge’s office for a routine check-up.

When the doctor’s assistant asked about her medical health history, Beltran said that she had struggled with the painkiller Percocet the previous year.

Beltran also said that she took Suboxone, a drug used to treat addiction to Percocet. After gradually reducing her dose, Beltran said she finally weaned herself completely off of drugs, and that she was totally drug free.

However, the doctor’s assistant was skeptical and ordered Beltran to take Suboxone in order to ease her withdrawal symptoms, and to protect the fetus, but Beltran refused.

Beltran explained that she had already weaned herself off the drug and is completely drug free. After rejecting the prescription, Beltran said she was asked to provide a urine test. The sample was negative for all opiates, and contained only a trace of Suboxone.

Two weeks after her checkup, a social worker came to Beltran’s house and ordered her to continue taking Suboxone or face a court order to do so. Once again, Beltran refused.

“I told the social worker that I’m off of this stuff and I don’t want to go back on it,” she said.
Two days later, the police came to her door. Beltran was arrested, handcuffed and taken to a hospital where she underwent a medical exam.

Doctors at the hospital found that her fetus is healthy and normal. From there she was taken to court.

Dr. Breckenridge, who did not treat Beltran, wrote a statement to the court on behalf of the unborn baby. “She exhibits lack of self-control and refuses treatment we have offered her,” Dr. Breckenridge wrote in the letter.

The doctor recommended a mandatory inpatient drug treatment program or incarceration. “The child’s life depends on action in this case,” Breckenridge added.

Beltran was sentenced to 90 days in a rehabilitation center where she was forced to take drugs.

According to her lawyers, Beltran was not aware that her personal health information could be used against her. "Alice had no idea that giving information to the physician assistant would ultimately be used against her in a court of law," Beltran’s attorney, Linda Vanden Heuvel, said.

Beltran’s lawyer added that she was not under the influence of any controlled substances at the time of her arrest.

Woman jailed after accusing her best friend’s boyfriend of rape after she willingly slept with him

Ashleigh Loder
By: Eva Fett

(Scroll down for video) A woman slept with her best friend’s boyfriend and then, she regretted it.

Instead of facing the consequences, the woman called police claiming that the man raped her.

During the investigation police found that the woman was lying and she was arrested. Now, the young mother of two, has been jailed for making the false rape claim.

Ashleigh Loder, 25, of the United Kingdom, told the officers that she had been attacked and raped by two strangers in an alley.

However, when her story did not add up, she admitted that she knew the man, and that he had forced her to have sex with him in her home.

When police spoke to the man, who was accused of rape, he was able to prove his innocence because he had recorded the sexual encounter between them on his cell phone.

The images showed that Loder, of Bideford, Devon, was a willing and active participant in the sex acts.

Police also saw that Loder sent the man a text message after the alleged rape, which made them question her version of events, as a normal rape victim would not contact a suspect.

Police believe that the woman made up the rape allegations because she was afraid of her best friend.
Loder pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and was sentenced to six months in prison.

“The man was branded a rapist, which caused him considerable distress. He suffered threats from within the community and he was unable to go to work. One can only imagine what it feels like to be accused of such a serious crime that could carry a sentence of about six years in prison," Judge Phillip Wassall told Loder at sentencing.

The woman’s attorney, Greg Richardson, apologized to the victim on her client’s behalf.
