Women in Brooklyn, New York, are more likely to remain single than women across the United States, because they are extremely picky when it comes to choosing a mate, according to a new survey.

Dating site AYI.com analyzed nearly half a million online dating interactions and found that Brooklyn women were the least likely to respond to messages from potential lovers.

"Brooklyn men are not confident enough to ask women out," Rosalie Ryan, 22, of Bushwick, who recently closed her online account due to the onslaught of stupid messages, said.

"Online dating has ruined dating. It made men lazy and they are less into the whole dating thing," she added.

The incident began after London police reacted quickly when there was silence during a call to 999 (the equivalent to 911 in the U.S.).

After breaking down the front door of the house from where the call was made, the officers realized who the culprit behind the call was, a cat named Bruce.

The homeowner now faces a bill of hundreds of dollars for a new front door.

"The police were just doing their job. For all they know, a very dangerous thing was happening inside," the sound engineer added.
