(Scroll down for video) A popular Best Buy store location has been robbed after thieves drilled a hole through the building cinder blocks, according to police reports in New York.
Brooklyn Police are investigating a sophisticated robbery at a Best Buy store location on the Belt Parkway, that involved some heavy-duty tools. Thieves made off with $75,000 in electronic products.
A manager came to the store in Bensonhurst before 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, to see a huge hole in the back wall, according to police.
A precision hole had been cut through a wall of concrete blocks, and thieves apparently entered through the opening to take electronics like iPads and iPods, leaving the shelves empty.
The theft may have been carried out in several ways, but the police are investigating a theory that the thieves parked a boat at the entrance behind the store. From there, the thieves could have loaded the boat and gone in any number of directions.
A spokesman for the New York Police Department, could not say how many suspects participated in the robbery. It is not yet clear whether any surveillance video has captured the crime.
