(Scroll down for video) A family lost all their belongings after a 10-year-old girl decided to play with some fireworks, according to rescue workers in Texas.
Conroe Fire officials said that the incident occurred on Sage Brush Court, on Tuesday afternoon.
Rebecca Berrios told investigators that she was playing Roman Candles on the front porch while her 12-year-old brother and 13-year-old sister were playing nearby.
Montgomery County rescue workers said that one of the fireworks lit the family house. Items that were kept outside for an upcoming garage sale added fuel to the fire.
“I lost everything, but not my faith. I have my faith,” Father Marcos Berrios said.
Marcos Berrios was doing mechanical work in the backyard when the fire started.
A neighbor from across the street alerted him to what was happening on the front porch.
The flames destroyed the three bedroom house in minutes.
The family of five escaped with their five Chihuahuas, but almost everything inside the house was destroyed.
Two vans that were parked outside were also ruined.
The neighbors are donating essentials for the family, who lost so much. They are now staying with other family members, and are trying to figure out where to go from here.
