A man was left with serious injuries after a fire truck ran him over, according to rescue workers in New York.
Fire Department New York said that a fire truck racing to a blaze struck and injured a man in Brooklyn, on Tuesday.
The unidentified victim, a man in his 30s, was crossing McDonald Avenue near Church Avenue around 10:00 a.m., when a fire truck from Ladder 148 struck him, authorities said.
The fire truck was heading to extinguish a fire in a two-story building on 36th Street near 12th Avenue when the incident occurred.
The firefighters jumped off the truck and gave the victim primary medical care. The department sent another fire truck to the fire.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene, took the wounded man to Lutheran Medical Center, where he was in serious but stable condition on Tuesday evening.
The fire on 36th Street was extinguished without incident.
