(Scroll down for video) A man was arrested and charged with theft after he allegedly stole hand sanitizer from a hospital in order to get drunk, according to police reports in Pennsylvania.
Altoona Police said that a local man is facing charges after he confessed to stealing a large quantity of hand sanitizer from a hospital.
Lee B. Ammerman, 51, of 1121 20th Avenue, is accused of taking 12 containers of the liquid in the span of several months, and told police that he stole it because he wanted to get drunk.
“I mix the liquid with orange juice,” Ammerman said after being arrested at the hospital.
An employee saw Ammerman steal sanitizer, and police were able to positively identify the suspect as Ammerman.
Police said Ammerman headed for a bath in the hospital when officers confronted him and asked him to answer some questions about the theft.
Ammerman agreed to talk with the police, and after a moment’s hesitation, he admitted to stealing the hand sanitizers.
The theft cost the hospital $80.00.
Ammerman was charged with misdemeanor theft and receiving stolen property.
