A man was left seriously injured after a car ran him over while shopping at a Hyundai dealer, according to a lawsuit filed in a New York court.
Phillip Bermudez, 36, was sitting at the desk of a salesperson in Plaza Hyundai, which is located in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn, last month, when a new Hyundai Santa Fe zoomed about 20 feet across the showroom floor, striking him and pinning him to the wall.
Bermudez said he suffered injuries to his head and body, and he cannot return to work.
Newmark Als, the salesperson, was not injured.
“I remember hearing the driver say,’I know I’m fired,'” Bermudez said.
“I heard the manager say that he should not have been in the vehicle because he caused accidents before,” he said.
“People are going to a car dealer for the purpose of buying a car and not being violently hit by one,” the lawyer who filed the lawsuit on behalf of the victim said.
