A man was arrested and charged with theft after he was accused of stealing from a Chabad House, according to police reports in Illinois.
Chicago Police said that they arrested a local man on Saturday, after being accused of stealing from the Tannenbaum Chabad House. The man was also accused of identity theft.
Nevin Simon Landi, 26, robbed the Chabad House, which is located at 2014 Orrington Avenue. Landi stole approximately $3,700 in property when he initially broke in about early November.
Landi, of the 1900 block of Farwell Avenue, took $150 two gift cards, a gold watch and an iPod during the initial theft.
Landi stole from the Chabad House for a second time on Thursday at 3:15 a.m., when he came in and stole a laptop computer and $20. Videos of the incident show Landi breaking into the building on both occasions.
During the course of the investigation, officers discovered that Landi had used a fraudulent American Express card in October and charged thousands of dollars to the card.
