A teacher for special needs children was arrested and charged with child endangerment after being caught poisoning a schoolgirl, according to police reports in the United Kingdom.
The Ledbury mother who runs an online tutoring service for children with learning difficulties, Mary Kidson, 55, is accused of giving the child a toxic substance with intent to endanger life or cause serious bodily injury for over two years.
She was first arrested in March of last year and remained on bail while detectives conducted an investigation in cooperation with local social services and health authorities.
The allegations relate to a girl who is now in her teens, and dates back to between December 2010 and March 2013, police said. The alleged victim has not been identified.
Kidson was charged on Friday, and was released on bail pending an initial court appearance.
A spokesperson for the West Mercia Police said that the charges came after a long investigation.
The charges relate to a child who is now in her late teens.
