A pastor was arrested and charged with murder after he allegedly hacked another pastor to death because he stole his glory, according to police reports in Nigeria.

The pastor of the Apostolic Church, which is located in Oke Afata, Gbongan, Osun State, hacked another pastor, Julius Olusoji Oguntoye, to death on Wednesday, after accusing him of stealing his glory.

The killing took place at 8:00 p.m. in front of the Apostolic Church, where the victim lived.

Police officers who arrived at the scene, recovered the machete used by Pastor Adepoju to inflict the fatal injuries to his fellow pastor. He confessed to the crime.

The disturbance began at 6:40 p.m., when Adepoju left his home with a machete and went to Oguntoye. He accused him of casting a spell on him to steal his glory.

The victim began cursing him, and warning him to stop.

As the fight escalated, the suspect took his large machete and used it to inflict a deep cut in the chest and stomach of the victim, resulting in severe injuries and instant death.

The suspect had been arrested and booked into jail.
