A fugitive sex offender became angry after a newspaper falsely wrote that he raped a young girl, according to police reports in the United Kingdom.
Sussex Police said that a sex offender has gone on the run after pleading guilty to causing or inciting a minor to engage in sexual activity.
James Dunham, 33, escaped from Lewes Crown Court, after admitting the charge.
Dunham, a landscaper of Eastbourne, East Sussex, was given bail and told to remain in the courthouse to discuss the case with his attorney.
He has not been seen since.
Dunham, whose last known address was in Albert Parade, Eastbourne, is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall, medium build, with green eyes and short brown hair.
“Dunham is not believed to present a physical risk to the public, but anyone who knows where he might be is required to contact us immediately,” a police spokesperson said.
In an ironic twist, Dunham contacted police after a local paper reported that he pleaded guilty to child rape.
