(Scroll down for video) British health officials are scrambling to contain a mystery pet rotting disease after at least sixteen dogs have died.
Posters are being put up in New Forest, that alert dog owners about a mysterious illness that has killed 16 dogs so far.
Dog owners were warned to take their pet to a vet if they see lesions on their legs, feet or face.
Veterinarians said that the disease, which leads to kidney failure, is similar to the “Alabama Rot,” which was first seen in the U.S. in the 1980s.
The source of the disease is unknown.
Most dogs that died in the past year were in New Forest, but there were others in Surrey, Cornwall, Worcestershire and Durham County.
