Jews are angry after the main synagogue in Rome, Italy, received a pig head delivery.
“This is a despicable and cowardly act that offends the Jewish community and Romans,” Nicola Zingaretti, president of Lazio, the region where Rome is located, said.
The pig head was sent in a package to the Grand Synagogue of Rome on Friday, and similar packages were also sent to the Israeli Embassy in Rome, and a museum holding an exhibition on the Holocaust.
Police said that the anti-Semitic graffiti were also scrawled on the walls of a municipal building in the city.
Police were investigating, but so far, no arrests have been made.
A statement from the American Jewish Committee, said that the recent events were a serious alarm, and called for greater vigilance.
