A man was found dead next to his mother’s body that was lovingly covered in blankets, police said.

Claudio Alferi, 58, of Argentina, lived with and cared for his elderly mother. However, he did not tell anyone when she died.

Forensic experts believe that she had died almost a decade ago.

Police were called to the house of the 58-year-old on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, and found the bodies of the woman and her son. They were sitting next to each other at the kitchen table.

Neighbors told detectives that the last time they saw Margarita Amaz alive was about 10-years-ago when she was 90-years-old.

“Claudio Alferi was a loner and rarely spoke to us. Every time we asked him about his mother he said: ‘She is fine,'” a neighbor said.

Ms. Alferi’s body was mummified and experts believe that she has been dead for eight to 10 years.

Her son is believed to have been dead for 30 days.

“The mother’s body was found covered with plastic bags and blankets, and had her winter slippers on,” police said.

“It looked like she had been covered up lovingly,” police added.

Police are investigating whether Claudio Alferi kept his mother’s death a secret due to issues of her inheritance.

Police said that there was no signs of violence on their bodies.
