(Scroll down for video) A woman was badly injured when she fell out of a moving police car after allegedly being sexually assaulted by an officer.
Kim Nguyen, 27, suffered a concussion, a broken jaw and many broken teeth, when she fell out from the police car.
Now, she is suing the Los Angeles Police Department for sexual assault and negligence.
It all began when Nguyen and two friends had been drinking at a restaurant in Los Angeles, California. When they left the restaurant, they were stopped by police, who arrested the three on the street.
Nguyen was the only one arrested for public intoxication, and police took her and drove off, leaving her friends behind.
Nguyen said that one of the officers then came into the back seat of the cruiser and began sexually assaulting her.
He then slipped his hand inside of her left thigh, and tried to force her legs open before pulling her shirt up and grabbing her breasts, according to court documents.
During the sexual assault, she suddenly fell out of the police car while she was still handcuffed.
Nguyen has no memory of how she fell from the car.
The video of the incident, showed the police car driving at high-speed through an intersection just after 3:00 a.m., as Nguyen fell from the car. The camera showed her motionless body lying on the ground and her face covered in blood.
She was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Her jaw was closed shut with wire for several days after which she reported the assault.
Doctors found bruises on her inner thigh.
Police are investigating her claim. Meanwhile, the officers involved in the incident remain on duty.
