(Scroll down for video) Police officers were not happy when a man warned other motorists that they are in the area.
Ron Martin, 33, held a sign letting people know that police are in the area so people stay within the speed limit to avoid being ticketed.
He was standing on a median of a six-lane highway in Frisco, Texas, holding his homemade sign which read “Police Ahead.”
However, police officers did not like his sign and he was arrested.
An undercover police officer sitting in his unmarked squad car soon realized what Martin was doing and decided to stop him.
The officer called for back-up and Martin was arrested for standing on public property. According to the law, sign holders must remain on private property.
He received a citation for violating a city ordinance.
In court, he explained that he was like a speed limit sign. “I just reminded people that there is a limit here,” Martin told the court.
