A 13-year-old girl was riding in the backseat of her uncle’s car when she fell asleep.
She awoke to a stranger attempting to rape her in the car.
Kapri Dickson, 23, of Queens, New York, has been arrested for stealing an SUV and then trying to rape the 13-year-old girl, who was sleeping inside.
According to police, Dickson stole the Ford Explorer around 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, on Sutphin Boulevard and Avenue 109.
The 28-year-old owner of the vehicle told police that his niece had been sleeping in the backseat of the unlocked car.
He and a friend ran into a shop for a moment and left the keys in the ignition when the heist occurred.
The teenager woke up during the trip. She became frightened when she saw a stranger driving the car.
She began screaming and kicking the driver’s seat.
Dickson then allegedly stopped at the side of the road and went into the back. He then pulled his pants down and tried to sexually assault the girl.
When the teen resisted, Dickson struck her in the face, breaking her nose. He then threw her out of the car.
Meanwhile, her uncle had already reported the car stolen and the girl missing.
Police found the girl at the side of the road and they apprehended Dickson.
Dickson, who has a previous arrest for selling drugs, was arrested, and he has been charged with kidnapping, sexual abuse, attempted sexual assault, auto theft and possession of stolen property.
