(Scroll down for video) A man was badly wounded when he was shot by teenagers.

Two young men jumped into his yard and demanded money.

When the older man told the teens that he did not have money, they fired four bullets, injuring his leg.

Zakhele Manan, 67 of Soweto, South Africa, was taken to the hospital for treatment.

An operation was done on his leg at the Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital, where doctors inserted steel in his leg.

Manan was at the hospital for about four months before he was released.

However, he was unable to walk. The wound kept bleeding and it smelled bad.

Manan returned to the hospital. However, since he cannot afford to pay for treatment, doctors refused to treat him.

The members of the hospital staff were not very helpful either.

Manan lives on painkillers, which he buys with his pension money.

Manan’s wife, Regina, 58, said her husband cries a lot as he is always in pain and his leg is rotting.

Manan is fed up with suffering all day so he wants to cut off his rotting leg.

After hearing his desperate pleas, Simon Zwane, spokesperson for the Gauteng health department, said the hospital administration agreed to meet with Manan to discuss treatment options rather than to cut it off.
