A man was excited about the purchase of his new car.

The man of Chongqing, China, wanted to celebrate his new minivan.

He decided to shoot firecrackers, but the firecrackers ended up setting his car on fire.

Fu, 44, bought a minivan for 49,000 yuan (about $8,100). He brought the van home to his family and set off the firecrackers about 1:00 p.m.

Within seconds, his family saw smoke coming from the minivan, and soon after, the flames began to surround the entire vehicle.

They tried to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher, but the flames had already become too big.

When firefighters arrived, the minivan had already been consumed by the huge flames.

“Fortunately, nobody was hurt. I’ll have to take responsibility for the loss because my insurance company won’t do anything about it,” the distraught man said.
