Girl who were determined to get good grades, found a way to stay awake while studying.

Many college students struggle to stay awake all night to study so they can have good grades.

Some Chinese college students have resorted to tying their hair to the ceiling with clothespins or fabric.

Whenever they doze off, the pins pull their hair, jolting them awake.

The technique became popular after two students of Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, located in the Fujian province, uploaded pictures of themselves doing it on social media.

Chen Tang, 20, and her roommate, Huang Lu, 21, had been struggling with their heavy workload and needed a quick solution to fight the urge to fall asleep.

They had tried the regular methods like caffeine, push ups and turning up the air conditioning, but nothing worked.

That’s when they decided to search for effective methods to keep them awake.

Chen and Huang read about two famous Chinese scholars, who practiced extreme methods to keep their mind alert.

One of the scholars tied his hair to a beam on the ceiling so that it pulls his hair everytime he fell asleep.

The girl’s liked the idea and tried it for themselves. They found it to be very effective, so they shared it with others.
