A man is dead after apparently hanging himself on a street in Brooklyn’s Prospect park, police in New York said.
Brooklyn Police said that they found the dead body of a 50-year-old man hanging from a tree in Prospect Park on Monday morning.
The man, who has not been identified, was found with a rope around his neck, near the lake at 3:44 a.m.
Paramedics declared the man dead at the scene.
According to the initial investigation, police believe that the man committed suicide.
Last week, a young boy died after he reenacted a scene he saw on television.
The 8-year-old of California, has died after hanging himself from a doorknob while his mother was out of the house.
Julianni Plascencia was discovered on Saturday night, lying unconscious on the bedroom floor of his parents’ bedroom in Stockton.
His older brother found the child with a scarf wrapped around his neck with the other side tied around the doorknob.
Plascencia was rushed to a hospital where he died from his wounds less than 12 hours later, surrounded by his family.
Julianni’s parents said that around 9:30 p.m., the boy told his older brother that he was going to hang himself.
The older brother assumed that the 8-year-old was joking, and warned him not to make such jokes again.
Minutes later, the older brother realized that he had not heard from Julianni and he decided to check on him.
He entered his parents’ room only to discover that the child suffocated and was lying on the floor.
Despite the efforts of doctors to save him, the boy was pronounced dead at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, with his father cradling him and holding his hand.
The death was ruled an accident
