Police are looking to arrest and charge a man with assault after he allegedly sucker punched a Crown Heights man in the head in an unprovoked attack, crownheights.info reported.
Brooklyn, New York police said that the incident occurred at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night, as the man was walking home from a local synagogue.
The victim, a newlywed who lives in the area, noticed a black man in a red sweatshirt coming out of a building and walking towards him.
When the two passed each other, the man punched him in the head, causing him to lose consciousness and fall to the ground.
The attacker did not leave the scene and was standing nearby watching the victim.
A passerby saw police officers nearby and let them to the crime scene.
The victim said that he is suffering severe pain and swelling.
Police launched an investigation into the incident, but so far, no arrests have been made.
