A man who was caught stealing cat food, told police that his friend needs to feed 300 cats, police in Florida said.
Clearwater Police said that they were called to a local Walmart store after the man stole a lot of cat food.
Police officers responded to the Walmart, which is located on U.S. Highway 19 North. Loss prevention personnel had detained James Lawlor after he loaded a cart full of cat food into his car without paying.
Lawlor told the police officers that he had done this in the past because he is a cat food hustler. Lawlor also said that he has a friend with 300 cats and sold the food to him and others.
Lawlor was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail. He was charged with one count of theft.
