A teen was found dead inside a high end New York City hotel room, police in New York said.
The New York Police Department said that a New York University student and a talented artist was found dead of an apparent drug overdose inside her hotel room.
18-year-old Rowen Altenburger of Short Hills, New Jersey, was found unresponsive with a plastic over her head in the Bryant Park Hotel. The teen’s mother called the front desk to search her room after not hearing from her daughter.
Altenburger left a suicide note explaining that she had been suffering from chronic depression.
Police officers have also found prescription pills in the hotel room.
It is unclear why Altenburger was staying at the hotel in downtown Manhattan, where rooms go for $265 to $365 per night.
