(Scroll down for video) A mail delivery person suffered injuries after a crazed man bit him in the leg because his check has not arrived, police in Ohio said.

Akron Police said that they arrested a local man on Saturday, after being accused of attacking a postal worker doing his daily rounds.

Robert Kiefer, 25, allegedly assaulted the 56-year-old postal worker and then fought with police officers who were called to the scene.

According to the police report, officers found Kiefer and the mail delivery person involved in a fight at the intersection of East Thornton and Kling, around 3:30 p.m.

A crowd was at the scene to watch the two fight it out.

The mail delivery person told police that Kiefer was angry after being told that his check has not arrived.

Kiefer grabbed pepper spray and attacked the mail delivery person in the eyes. The two men began fighting in the street, and Kiefer bit the mail delivery person three times in the leg during the struggle.

Paramedics treated the postal worker at the scene for cuts on the knee.

Kiefer was arrested on charges of misdemeanor assault and resisting arrest. He remained in the Summit County Jail in lieu of $1,000.
