A man was arrested and charged with theft after he allegedly took a pizza delivery person’s car for a joyride, police in New York said.

Brooklyn Police said that a thief took a car for a joyride in the Crown Heights neighborhood and almost ran over four police officers in the process.

The delivery person, who works for Papa John’s, was delivering some pizza on Ralph Avenue on Friday night, when his car was stolen.

While he was handing over a pie to a customer, Gray Richardson, 50, got into the car and sped off.

Richardson was nabbed seven blocks away, sitting in the stolen Chrysler.

When he saw the police officers approaching, he tried to escape and nearly mowed down four police officers. Luckily, the police were uninjured.

The suspect was driving with a suspended license.

Richardson was charged with four counts of reckless endangerment, unauthorized use of a vehicle, resisting arrest, criminal possession of stolen property and grand theft.

He was also given a summons for driving with a suspended license.
