(Scroll down for video) A woman suffered a beating after she offered to pay her taxi fare with a credit card, police in New York said.

Manhattan Police said that a woman was beaten by a taxi driver on Saturday around 11:30 p.m.

The incident began when she and her fiance hopped into the taxi at Broome Street corner Mulberry Street. After driving several blocks, the driver stopped and notified the couple that his credit card machine is broken and they will need to pay with cash.

The woman told the driver that they had no cash. The woman offered to stop at the nearest ATM to withdraw cash, but the driver just became really mad.

Suddenly, the driver stopped the car, went outside and reached for the man, grabbing him by the tie. He yelled that he does not trust anyone.

Then he pulled the woman out of the car and punched her in the face until she fell unconscious. The driver dumped them both on the street and drove off.

The couple filed a complaint with police, who launched an investigation, but so far, no arrests have been made.
